Aliens. The spheroids are harmess. The Rakala? We don't know.
About this creation
This started off after I watched District 9, got inspired, made the foot design you see here, attempted to make a viral spheroid, failed and got sidetracked into building a pair of really saurial-looking legs.
Which characters are saurial? The Shadowmongers, of course!
This species belongs to Gideon Fucci, as does the character Vera, even though no MOC of Vera has yet been made until now.
Vera is from the Necra Minor storyline (I renamed them minor because they're moons, not planets). The first shadowmonger (around which Vera is based in design), Voro, is here.
Vera is female, and considered 'petite' among shadowmongers. I guess I should count my blessings; this is about my limit for build size, especially since I had NO balljoint parts available during the build.
Note: there's a bit missing off her right elbow. I'd forgotten to stick it back on before photography >.< This is still probably my densest build yet. She's heavy - and I think she has more parts than Telossen did.
Name: Vera Gender: Female Species: Rakala - 'Shadowmonger' Race: Unknown to Caelestis. Occupation: Extraterrestrial Scout. Techie. Title(s): none Prevailing Element: Shadow Alignment: Neutral Good Typical Weapon: Dextrous Interface Tool, Machina, Force-fields MOC Status: Disassembled
((Mass Effect - Thane's Theme. It works here better than any of the girls' ones. Meh.))
Vera is one of a team of 'Shadowmongers' that landed on Necra Minor, unbeknownst to the Akonians of the system. Their ship, NightShade was undetectable by any Akonian technology. Necra Minor, of course, was deserted. Or so they thought. Life-signs detection won't detect creatures that aren't truly alive.
Upon setting up base perimiter on a region of the moon called the Earthlord's plateu, Vera detected strange objects entering the moon's atmosphere. Voro, the other operative with her at the time, was sent to investigate.
While Voro was gone, a native slipped into the camp. When Voro returned with a stunned spheroid, Jihahli had already been discovered and held at gun point. Curious, the two were taken in.
However, it was not long before the moon turned on them. The arrival of the shadowmongers had aroused the attention of the Horde. The masses of deathsteel-stricken dead attacked suddenly and relentlessly. Vera took control of the camp's forcefields and Voro the machina. After hours of laser-slicing, cannon fire and swordplay, the last vestiges of undead had fled.
Later, one of the Immune found the camp...
The Rakala, or Shadowmongers had slight elemental control over shadow - able to cloak, create small illusions and drain energy from their immediate surroundings. This ability permeates their culture. On the arms of the Extraterrestrial operatives are powerful computerised machines able to manipulate objects, fire them, scan, communicate and a variety of other strange uses.
The Rakala evolved without any human intervention. Their appearance is saurial, with bright skin, large eyes, double-jointed legs, beaks and feather-like protrusions on their heads (of course Vera is in a space-suit. I tried to cover all the holes).
Absolutely LOVE this one. Fig proportions are fantastic, essentially monochrome colorscheme w/trans accents is SWEET; the asymmetrical arms, the annotated District-9-y legs. Even love the greeble chosen for the back and KK pauldron armor. Excellent!
district 9 was amazing, but it was disgusting and the acting wasn't that good....but the story was AMAZING! I LOVE THE END....does anyone think they are making a second one, i mean by the ending.....BREATHTAKING!

Wow! What do you use for your background?
Just plain white poster paper, curved as it meets the vertical so you don't see any lines, then brightened using the 'fix it' options on windows explorer.

That is an incredible moc especially for the fact that you didn't have any balljoints. I have a question. Is district 9 really worth seeing? Anyway, nice moc.
It's a brilliant Movie - better than Avatar I'd say, very similar plot. Very gross though.

The head looks like Roodaka from the movie :P
That was a major source of inspiration - oddly enough, Halo and AVP played no part in it. I don't see where Halo comes into it, and I've never watched any AVP stuff.

Nice, this is great! Next thing you know, you'll be moving up to building titans!
Impressive. One of your better works. I like the simple black color scheme with something little way too often :P The structure is so similar to Monarth, that I could build a Shadowmonger version of him. I'd just need some certain parts first...

This is super special awesome, I like the back and her sexy belt
i'm getting an alien vs predator / halo vibe..... i LOVE the moc and the story goes soo well..... i like the stealth cloak idea, useful for female fighters, or "aliens"
Great job Gringat! I like it (like most of you'r mocs) but the last female moc might always be my favorite
If only MOC pages had emotes man. Epic. She has to be my favorite of all of my Characters that you've made. She is amazingly well done. the shape is perfect for what i had imagined, the Tool arm looks great, The armor suit.I love it. If I dropped my version to this size and did a bit of redesign with My version, It would be perfectly scaled for some of their heavy fighting units.
Your stuff is just far out beautiful in every way shape and form! The claws are great and the saurial legs are a sight to behold. I think I need to try some Bionicle builds again but yours are light years ahead of anything I'm even considering.
