Well, here is my first creation to be uploaded to MOC pages: my Armored Van!
About this creation

I constructed the front of the van pretty simply, although I think the simple look gives it a far more rugged feel. I switched out a light for a clear stud, giving the impression it was shot out in a battle.

My favorite part of the whole creation is the shot up look I gave it, with the missing lights, dark grey color, and pieces with Technic axel-holes in them. The only bad thing is that I forgot to put doors in for the driver. Drat! I could always make the argument that moving doors would probably make the van more susceptible to gunfire by compromising its armored exterior. That makes sense, right? Right!? Yeah, I didn’t think so either ;)

There’s not much in the rear, besides a robber with an assault rifle and a blown out parking light.

I purposefully left the interior mostly empty so I could easily mod it into a weapons vehicle, communications post, get-away vehicle, or even an ice cream truck (Okay, that last one is a bit of a stretch). Currently, the van is being used in smash-‘n-grab robberies on ATMs. Simply dislodge an ATM by ramming into it, hop out the back, use a power lift to put it in the back, and drive away, all the while knowing nothing short of an RPG launcher is going to slow you down.

I threw this last picture in to show the size of the van, using one of my few pieces of US currency and a gun-toting/ATM-smashing minifigure for scale.
Well, that’s about it! It’s a simple design, yes, but I think it has to be one of my better creations. Now, where did I put those stupid doors?

OOOOO! That is cool. I love the control panels and the doors in the back. Keep up the good work! |
