Tank Truck I
The 3180 Tank Truck is really a nice set, but too large to deliver to all locations. So I build my own smaller version. It will deliver heating oil to my citizens. I used similar snot techniques to build the rear mudguards as on my snowplough truck.
About this creation

This is how the model looks in real bricks.

Quoting cyberfrank 2010 another great design! as for scale, check my rolling thunder car, i have made an example of the space available to do the max width vehicles, on lego road plates, it s 6 wide! no more... go check to see why! great truck...again!
Thanks mate! Yes, I have seen your "tiny roads" pics ;-) But in my town I prefer only one lane in each direction, which should also work with 7-wides. Btw. I have made minor updates to the page and added links to my Brickshelf folder with pictures of the brick-built model and instructions. Cheers, Sleepie

Quoting Angka Utama Nice truck you have here (I like its stance).I also feel that most LEGO city cars are too big for their own city. That's why I concentrate to built them in even smaller size (4-wide), using Japanese Kei cars as reference.
Thank you Angka. I mostly like the size of the current city cars, because of their good minifig compatibility. But well LEGO and scale, that is another story ;-) Even the minifig itself is out of scale compared to real-life, because it is too width for its height. I try to keep my models "in-scale", so a truck is normally bigger as a car and so on, but I don't restrict myself to this rule. In the end the model itself must look good and should be well proportioned. Another more important point for me is playability, because my kids (want to) play with most of the stuff I build. Cheers, Sleepie
