Battlestar Galactica: The Next Chapter Part 7
It has been three months since the arrival of the Cylon Baseship, and their proposition to return to Kobol and ultimately to the Twelve Colonies.
About this creation
Mission parameters were discussed, as well as the security risks of trusting the Rebel Cylons. Leaving the Earth unprotected by the newfound Battlestar was a major hurdle to agreeing to the mission, but knowing that the Baseship would accompany them was a relief. Galactica and her crew were fully prepared for an extended journey, and an extended fight if necessary.

The Galactica's logs indicated that there had been survivors on Caprica after The Fall, hiding above the radiation in the mountains surrounding Delphi. They could only speculate as to what they would discover on the other Colonies, or along the way'

Galactica:
Officer's Recreation Room Poker Game...

CAG:CMDR Leanoard Barto, call sign Maverick

XO: Colonel Doug Watchko

Raptor Pilot: LT Jeremy Catolik

Deck Chief: LT Chettina Kuo

Viper Pilot: LT Gus Dayre, call sign DareDevil.

Catolik: So, you hear that Levopolis guy is coming along with crews to film the mission?

Kuo: Why him? What does he think happens on this ship?
Dayre: Hey, why haven't I been invited?

Maverick: Because you don't brush your teeth...
Colonel: Ante up!

Catolik: Well, he started that whole holographic film technology, probably thinks he can sell it when we get back...

Kuo: Like people are going to be interested in a bunch of old ruins...
Dayre: Well, they still go to Detroit...

Mav: And your mom's house!
Colonel: Okay, bet...

Catolik: Ouch! Heeeeere's the Flop...
Kuo: I'm out...
Dayre: I'm in for twenty...
Catolik: So, Colonel, How's the wife?

Colonel: Ex wife, and I'm not interested...
Catolik: Is she coming along to star in the show?

Dayre: What do you mean Jer?
Catolik: Oh, you didn't know Doug's...EX...wife is a big star for the G.A.I.A.?

Dayre: No way?!
Catolik: Turns out she must have been looking for...
Colonel: Are you in?!
Dayre: That was her?..In the...but...How did she get that...?
Colonel: Are you going to bet or what?!
Catolik: I'm out! That's what Levopolis said!

Mav: Full boat, Dudes!!
Colonel: Why you...!!

Mav: Okay, break it up! You're officers, not a couple of yahoos!

Rebel Cylon Baseship:
Central Loading Dock

Although the Galactica has a full crew, and is fully stocked with supplies, fuel, and ammunition, it was decided that multiple scientific teams would also be required.
Extensive security and background searches and psychological profiles were performed on every candidate.

Levopolis' Greco Adult Industries Amalgamated (G.A.I.A.)Film Crew organizing supplies.

These civilian voyagers would be divided between the Galactica and the Baseship, which had also been prepared for its human passengers. Leaders in archaeology, exobiology, environmental science, infectious diseases, as well as multiple film crews to document the journey and the discoveries were assembled.

In spite of somewhat questionable characters, Levopolis' holographic film crew was short tracked through the screening processes. It paid to have connections with those in the upper echelons of the International Leadership...

Chrissy Phipson: Mr. Levopolis...We've been looking forward to your arrival!

"Yes, I'm sure you have!"

Quoting Kermunklin the Giant Evil House Head There must be something about the BSG's architecture that lends itself to volatile poker games...and nice zinger on Detroit!
Homage to that pilot episode. And Kentucky Fried Movie. Thanks again!

Quoting clayton Marchetti Kentucky fried movie? I don't remember that one? I'll have to look it up, sounds like a comedy
It's from the brothers who made Airplane! But it's a bunch of skits, including a spoof on Enter the Dragon. A lot of the scenes are on Youtube.

Quoting Dave Kaleta Bart, Would you believe Devon actually asked to watch the pilot on Sunday? All the talk at dinner must have peaked her interest. Your recreation of the card game is great. ~DK
Thanks! Figured I'd try and re-create that scene. I guess it helped hearing a positive review from Cettina. Did she like it?

This would fit in great with the series, even if it is a bit more blocky. LOL! both the new and old Galactica's were amazing shows, but I hope your comic doesn't get bad latter on like they did. The new one was too much of a soap after season 2 and Battlestar 1980 simply sucked. I can't wait until some space battles, probably my favorite thing from the TV shows!

Not sure if you watched the TV show, but the poker scene was in the pilot movie, kicked things off for a bunch of the characters. You've got a lot of reading ahead of you, but I think you'll enjoy it!

Thanks again, Luke! Tried to follow the bit from the miniseries, more or less. And yes, she's a descendant of our illustrious Moderator. But she and the Col haven't run into each other, yet...

Thanks! I liked that, too, and made sure it made it in the shots. This episode was an homage to the scene at the beginning of the Miniseries.

Quoting cyberfrank 2010 the rooms are great! and i find them very well designed, clean, but, the medieval props killed the next gen quality looks for me! i would nt leave it there, the ship hangar is also awesome, the dialog however, was uninteresting for me, but, i m not a battlestar fan, i m mostly an admirer of your building talent, and hopefuly a friend, good show el barto!
Thanks for the critique. I know what you mean, but I figured if it's going to be the officers' pub or whatever, it needed some decor, and that's what I've got...Oh well. The conversation is reminiscent of one of the opening scenes from the Miniseries. Trying to lay down some characters and their histories, basically. I'm sure you'll like the next one!

Quoting Mr. Xenomurphy Your stories are as cool as your MOCs. When I'm finished with watching the old Batman series I really have to watch BG next. Would you recommend to start with the old movies or with the new series?
You know, I'd start with the new series. When I was a kid, I was really into the old show, but watching the re-runs, not nearly as charming. Pretty crude, really, and not necessary for following the updated version. Thanks for the comment!

As I looked over the pictures, I did notice how fetching she is! Funny and sinister at the same time is tricky, but I think we have a serious villain! I've got tons of those old shields, and a few new ones from the Advent Calendar. Thanks, Chief!
