First stage of the wh40k LEGO Ork Army project.
About this creation
Marines needed an opponent to fight, and this was a harder task than I expected. Ork body is harder to create with typically rectangular bricks, as it is naturally rounded and muscular. After trying Chaos and Necron, it seemed that Orks are the only possible choice... even then, it took me about 5 tries to make good rendition of the Ork frame. Each requiring several days...
There they are - though for now, in minimal numbers. Just 2 10-Boyz squads, 4 warbikes, warboss and 3 killa kans. Detailed description below.
Warboss Khozgutt - might declare his own Waaagh! one day. With Kustom Shoota and Power Klaw collecting new trophies is not a difficult task.
Nob Dumsarg's Shooty Boyz Squad, one also has a Big Shoota to make more dakka. Each Shoota is diffrent, also individual Boyz have diffrent accessories or clothing.
Several Boyz from both squads have Stikkbombs with them.
Nob Greglar's Slugga Boyz Squad. Much like Shootas, every Ork here has unique gear - both a Slugga and Choppa, except one who had apparently paid local Mek lotsa teef for a Rokkit Launcha.
Greglar considers Dumsarg's armor to be a un-Orky. After all there is nothing better than a good skar!
Nob Sligkrak and his fellow Warbikers. There is no such thing as "standard" Ork vehicle, but each is shooty and fast. Of course Nob has the best bike around, with custom jet engine in the back to ensure that nobody is faster than him.
Orks may face tougher foes than infantry, so sometimes heavy firepower and at least some armor is needed. Kans are reasonably cheap and armed with Rokkits or a Grotzooka, deal with most vehicles quick. Of course they too are unique...
...altough that is mostly because I was running out of parts so each subsequent Kan was built out of weirder pieces to substitute missing basics...

I'm a good fan of WARhammer and these orks capture the look and feel of 40k. Stuck playing the Age of Reckoning till 40k online comes out... Good luck Warcraft >:). Still the question continues, how do the greenies reproduce... or is it best left unanswered.
:D
If you were a fan of wh40k universe you would know that for sure! Hint: no sex involed. In fact, no females involved. |

Nice job man, you captured the 'cobbled' feel very well. I've always thought the Ork were one of the more interesting races in WH40K. They kind of remind me of mongols, technologically inferior to the other races, but despite all that they are kicking a** and taking names. |

I'm not really surprised that some may mistake some of the pieces for being non-Lego. I actually used to study some of your older work and eventually stopped because I couldn't identify half of the parts usage! It's just really advanced stuff! Anyway, another awesome post, always good to see what your working on. |

Can't say I'm fond of all the modified parts in there, but there's some interesting combos. Can't imagine all those little bionicle heads being cheap.
Modified parts?
The only modified parts here are probably the helmets which do not come in grey, so I painted them... aside from that, nothing but normal pieces + stickers here and there :) |
