I will show you how to make Gimli's axe, and one of his throwing axes. Frirst you get a normal axe, like this one...

About this creation

...You then get your scissors, and chop the top off, like you see in the picture...

...To make the throwing axe, you cut it just about in half. If you want to make Gimli's normal axe, chop off about half a centimetre...

...Like in this picture. You can refer the this pic for length, and were to chop. Hope this helps you, and check out my custom pike...
