Finally, here is my 599 GTO Convertable. This is my first ever Ferrari and I really enjoyed trying to emulate the sensuous curves of the GTO. In hindsight, I could have made it more accurate to the real thing, but this model is more of my intrepretation of the car than an exact replica.
About this creation
I'm not entirely satified with the nose right above the grill, but I did want to make sure the hood opened so I'll have to find a better solution for that in the future
I had a lot of fun sculpting the rear of the car and I think I went a little too far. I did the rear of the car the way I wanted it to look so there are some glaring differences.
On Actually, the rear is where my model differs the most from the real car. I have bigger upwards angled exhausts on either side of the diffuser which are inspired by the original GTO's. Also notice the retractable rear spoiler.
The interior was the part of this car I tried to detail as much as i could. My favorite part of this interior is the center consol with air vents just like the real thing and the shifter which I had to cheat a little bit on even though this car isn't even offered with a 6 speed open gate shifter and just has a flappy paddle gearbox.
Haha. I just noticed the reflection of the shifter in the door liner.
Sorry for the crappy picture of the engine. I had somehow forgot to take pictures of the glorious V12 and had to take this one on my cell phone.
The more I looked at this, the more I liked it. I really like the way you did the back end, and its cool that you did your own version of it, rather than go for all out realism. Great build!

What a great looking car! I don't know that I've seen a convertible 599; this is a cool interpretation. If you still have this put together, it would be really cool to see a 599XX version. Anyway, great build!

Nice it looks really good and I love the engine but I think it needs to be a bit wider, maybe two studs and then it will look even better. Great job though
