Mos Eisley Stormtrooper Checkpoint
I got set #8092 for Christmas and immediately started modifying it. So I made this scene to show off my custom Stormtroopers and Landspeeder.
About this creation

Just one of the droids with a third leg.

"How long have you had these droids?"
"About two or three seasons..."

Some junk on the corner.

"These aren't the droids you're looking for..."
"These aren't the droids we're looking for..."

"Move along..."
"Move along, move along..."

The flanking Stormtroopers.

All the Stormtroopers together. I have nine more for a total of sixteen. A nice little army.

A shot of my custom re-breather.

Just about everyone else has made a turning head R2-D2 so I made one of my own, too.

I think mine is the easiest to make. All you have to do is trim the studs on the body back far enough to allow the head to turn. However, you can see some of that through the holes in the head.

Here is some of the custom Speeder work. I recessed the dark red into the body instead of it just sitting on top, for starters.

I redesigned the center thruster because I thought the official design was too bulky. And the black parts are more movie accurate.

I also changed the interior to be more movie accurate.

Overall, I'm happy with how it turned out.

My custom Ithorian and Ponda Baba.

excellent detailing on the speeder. i love the R2 head and i would also add some more traffic around them, maybe a swoop bike or two.

Hey thanks but I gave up on the cantina. Couldnt finish the structure. Not enough tan. And now all the work is in 100's of pieces in a bag.

Quoting T. Young Hey remember me? Well I need to know how to make a Ponda Baba whatever the name is. I am currently working on a Chalmun's Cantina and I need all the people from it. Did you use a home made decal? It really looks good.
Thanks! I used water slide decals from www.fineclonier.com.

I really like the custom work you did on the speeder. I was really impressed with the official set as it is but making it movie accurate has improved it a lot. BTW, I would kill to have that many stormies! ;)

I love your retrofit land-speeder and the Ithorian! But it would be nice if the "junk" in the corner could have some more details.

Thanks! I agree about the "junk". I didn't have much time to put this together so it lacked the amount of detail I really wanted.

Great build and well photographed! But, Dude! You missed the punch line!! "These aren't the Droids you're looking for"! "Move along" I bet Phipson could recite the rest of the movie from there, but I'm more of a BSG fan. Excellent work!
