Sydney B. Ocelot and the ShagWag
This is my entry for ’The Great Groovepunk Contest’. Category: Spaceship. Have fun. I’ve had mine.
About this creation
What’s shakin’, dude? I’m Sydney B. Ocelot, but you can call me Oz. This is the funkadelic story how I got my ShagWag.
Summer 2269. I wanted to visit the Uraniumstock Festival on Mars, but I didn´t even had a zeppelin to led, if you catch my drift. So I started to search.

A few days later I found an old jet engine in a barn, that was far out. The farmer was a real cool cat, so I could have that monster for free.

Time to visit my old pal, Wally Harrisson. He’s the grooviest gearhead I’ve ever known. Bit of a pothead, too. But totally caposhi. He told me he could tinker a descent little ship for me using the engine, but he’d need also a corpus.

Wally owned some secret military plans. He showed me what he needed and where I could ’borrow’ that beauty.

So I walked to the nearby military base. Sure those smokeys didn’t want to lend me a ship, they even activated their Restract-O-Bots and -Mechs. But I was equipped with my flower-power-gun, powered by a power plant.

Everything went mucho wackoid.

But the hangar was empty. They really yanked my chain.

Wally and I found out that the F/A-23 was nothing but discarded metal anymore. Dang it!

To my big surprise I found an old F/A-23 in the junkyard close to the station. The cockpit canopy was missing, but I’ve had a good idea where to get one ...

That’s it! Wally worked to the max and I got my ShagWag. He connected 4 old compression ignition engines with the jet engine and I was responsible for the groovy paintjob.
I didn’t make it to the festival, but that’s a different story. Peace, love and granola.

4th wall:
I might get disqualified for building not only a spaceship, but a whole lot of other stuff. I love the groovepunk idea in general, so go ahead, it’s okay. Like I always say: “I’m here for the fun.“
I might add some making-of pics the next days.

After I saw the cover on the folder page I thought: "Okay, let's try this. Looks like something, what will not blame you again..." BUT: IT BLAMES ME AGAIN!!! WHY?! why are you ever building such good stuff?! I don't understand it?! Where do you get the money for your projects from? If this models would be sold by LEGO you'd have to pay hundrets, no thousands of dollars for it! One word: Respect!

I really like the groovepunk idea too! You did a great job on the whole moc, and the story line was nice too! I might just have to make my own groovepunk creation sometime.... :)

Wonderful display in build quality, execution, and photo editing! A real treat to view. The greebling on the aircraft after the engine is installed is particularly impressive. A great marriage of themes going on here, as well.

Awww, dat ship's so perdy it sparkly! Okay now I got that out my system, a wonderful story to go along with a fine ship. If the judges, whoever they are decde to DQ you for that then they need their blockheads examined.

The shot of the inside of the barn alone is worth five little plastic heads... add all the other stuff and this is a mind-blowing creation.

Hhahahaha! that's awesome dude! LOVE the groovy paint job, that little ship is a real charming beauty. Love it heaps! The story and sets were fun too. I like that you can see all the inner works of the ship under and behind the surface. Best of luck!

Quoting Flare . Very nice work. I would never disqualify this beauty, but please note that we will only be judging you on your spaceship, not the whole deal you've done here (because if we included the dioramas and such as well - it would be too easy of a win!)
Would have been okay to kick me out, but judging just the ShagWag is cool, too. The rest is only 'extras' anyway.

Quoting Jared Lautenslager Awesome! How do you get your really good white backround
Thanks. I'm using a light tent and 2 studio flashlights. After that a bit of photoshop work, like minor level adjustments.

I have a feeling that someone is building a ShagWag somewhere in my town right now– it's known for being a bit of a hippy hot-spot. Anyway, this is good building to the max! Love everything about the build. Peace!

Just loving that shot in the barn. And there is a lot of rare coloured tile action going on here. Lots of cool details and the use of that hair makes me think metal fan. Good luck in the contest.

Oh the irony of you building a 'rainbow' ship...I'm diggin' the vibe of your ride and your flower-gun lays down some serious law. Fantastic work on all of the sets and machinery, even if it doesn't count.~H
