Firebreath very low orbit starfighter
The Firebreath is a Very Low Orbit (VLO) and high atmospheric fighter. It is both fast and well armoured. Its long tail makes it very recognisable.
About this creation

Going for the kill. The Firebreath is the first thing I built in this colour scheme that I am completely happy with. This is expecially nice since the parts I used come from a ship that I consider a complete failure.

Top and bottom view. I like the greebles on top and the little VTOL-thrusters on the bottom. Inside the tail is a retractable landing stand.

Front and back.

Let's give the statistics guys some data here:
Crew: 1
Speed (atmospheric): 1350km/h
Speed (orbital): 45G
Operational time (patrol mode): 4.5 hours
Operational time (combat mode): 2.5 hours
Engines: 6 (2 orbital, 4 atmospherical)
VTOL thusters: 7 + 2
Weapons: 8-barrel minigun
Length: very sufficient, thankyouverymuch

A happy pilot and a closer look at the greebles.

Yes?

Same as the splash image, but without the background. I like the sleek sides, which gives it a well-armoured look.

Backside (high and low).

Flyover shot.

Another close look at the body of the ship. Really loving that big exhaust in the centre.

Oh yes! The landing stand extended from underneath the tail. It fits neatly under there and it makes it stand pretty steadily.

Right up my alley this. We may be similar in our sci-fi nerdiness; that mixture of art, creativness, engineering, and wish-it-were-real backstories. Anyway, I agree with you on the sleek, armoured sides. To add to it (the comment) I'd say what I like best is the greebly top in between the sleek sides. Yummy. Also, you managed to use the old (old!) wedge, yellow tint canopy - which usually makes any ship look retro - without making it look retro. It looks bad! One last thing.. I love its story, but I'd like to know more: What its common missions? Does it drop down like a bird of prey on unsuspecting targets? More story details!

Now that is a very interest craft. I wouldn't have thought it was a fighter. Excellent design.

This looks like it could pick up some serious speed considering the amount of thrusters. A really cool, well-detailed and compact design. I like it. Alot.

You are right(as usual), the rear exhaust does look good. I'd like a large portion of tasty greebles please.

Cool overall shape, great greebly top side, unusual color scheme that works. All in all sweet MOC!

I like everything about this, save maybe the yellow windscreen. But I can't think of another color for it.

Very nice, I love the shape of it, It does look a lot better than that "failure" and that because of the different shape I think, this one is more simple yet more effective, great job

Colors are great, the construction is a total win. If you ask me I see this as a set! The way it has been made it definitely reminds of a set. Great work!

Nice ship, it seems like it would be good as a racer. And as for the 'meh', I didn't (don't kill me!!) find it to be too bad :P

I like it, I usaully don't build like this because I'm a terrible greebler, and because I like a sleeker look. Nice job.

Awesome design on this one! I love the parts usage on the tail and the sides. Tasty greebling on the top, as well:)

yup, very neat design, love the rear, in a non Phipson way, and a daring color scheme. Nice mate!

Great work on this. The colors are striking, and the overall shape makes it look speedy. It also really makes me want a yellow windscreen.

Very nice use of the huge gray slopes on the sides. I have been tinkering for ages for a good use of them. They go very well with the canopy; I might copy that technique someday. Thanks for sharing, now go build the Marvano thing!

Very nice! I especially like the thrusters underneath the belly, and the non-centrical position of the main gun. WHat I dont understand from the description is, if the vessel has any atmospherich capability? Anyway this one is MUCH better than the "meh?"! ;-)
