Perpetua was a christian martyr of the third century, who was executed in the Roman Coliseum. The story of her death is remarkable. None of the normal methods, which were used to kill Christians, worked on her, so in final desperation they put her to the sword. Today she is remembered as a saint, because she refused to deny Christ and His Kingdom. Perpetua faced the final test of faith and succeeded.
About this creation
A sword. I added this into the vignette, because it was the tool by which Perpetua was slain.
A whip.
A section of the Coliseum wall.
Rubble.
The row of lion heads. I added these to represent the wild animals that were let lose in the Coliseum, to kill the Christians (this was one of the "normal methods" of execution I mentioned in the introduction).
