AEGAKS-APB 002 D-Bu "Susano"
The Mass Production type S-Frame. Equipped with Schrado Industries signature SHINIGAMI System.
About this creation
AEGAKS-APB 003 D-Bu ĎSusanoí

This is the third Armored Pilot Block AEGAKS unit, Codenamed ĎSusanoí. The Susano is the first Mass Production type S-Frame unit, equipped with Schrado Industries signature Drive Booster, The SHINIGAMI system. More on that later though.

The Susano is equipped with a pair of Beam Sabers that easily convert into Tonfa style swords. Tonfa are an old Japanese weapon, used for both blocking and striking. The modern-day police Baton is basically a Tonfa.

When Ranged weaponry is called for, the Susano reaches up to the back-mounted weapon rack and pulls out one of its two sub-machine guns.

The Sub-machine gunsí default ammunition is particle based, but they can easily be converted to fire anything from standard bullets to burning globules of plasma.

When even more stopping power is called for, the Susano pulls out its second sub-machine gun, normally loaded with a different type of ammunition than the first one. For example, if the first gun is loaded with particle ammunition, the second may be loaded with acid bullets to melt through enemy armor.

An image of the Susano unleashing destruction on its foes with its twin guns.

Even without its onboard weaponry, the Susano is a formidable opponent. The pilots are trained in Martial arts, and they practice constantly to avoid losing their fighting edge. The cooling fins on the Susanoís arms are sharp and can be used for surprise attacks. The fins arenít as sturdy as actual blades, but they will do in a pinch.

There are additional cooling fins behind the thighs, used to channel the massive amounts of heat the SHINIGAMI system generates. The long Ďwingsí are just armor to protect these vital systems. There is also a pair of boosters beneath the fins to increase the Susanoís overall running speed.

This is the SHINIGAMI system core. It may seem ludicrously unprotected, but it is actually the most durable part of the mech, with the possible exception of the pilot block. It is constructed out of a high density alloy of titanium and Gigantium, a newly discovered mineral, and it generates its own nigh impenetrable shield. This booster is the single most expensive system on the Susano, and makes up a full third of its price. To make matters worse, the booster is a single use item and must be replaced after every use.

SHINIGAMI is actually an acronym which stands for:
Secondary
Hyperactive
Intrinsic
Neural
Interface
Gyroidal
Attack
Maneuver
Initiator

The way the system works is: Basically, the pilot activates their secondary Neural Uplink, providing a direct access between the Susanoís computer system and the pilotís mind, unlocking the full abilities of the Neural Trace system, including the head, because the SHINIGAMI system requires the sheer processing power of the Human brain in order to perform the complex equations that come with fracturing the crystal rod that makes up the core of the Drive Booster unit. The crystal rod contains enough energy to power a D-type frame for several months, so when it shatters, all of that energy is released at once, quadrupling the weapon and motion systems output for about fifteen minutes. The rod actually releases more energy, but fifteen minutes is about the maximum amount of time that the pilot can handle, and after about twenty minutes, the D-Type frame will actually explode from within, destroying or severely damaging anything within about a half-mile radius, as well as completely destroying the Susano. A beneficial side effect of this system is that it will completely recharge the main and auxiliary power cells. The crystal rod is completely used up once the system is activated so it must be replaced after use. The prohibitive cost of the core of the booster unit consequently means that there are very few SHINIGAMI equipped mecha. The Susano is one of three currently produced mecha that has the system, along with the Amaterasu Kai, and the Shinigami prototype. (Coming soon) All of the cooling fins must be open when the system is activated, or the Frame will incinerate itself.

A size comparison of the Susanoís head and the Drive Booster. Credit for the head unit goes to Jason Dominguez.

Here is the Susanoís head, Drive Booster, power cell, and Armored Pilot Block. As with nearly all AEGAKS the pilot block ejects.

This is the open Pilot Block. It is a rather tight fit for the pilot, but the less you move, the more you donít get injured when you eject, right? This pilot is named Jeran Tarel, and he is the third Pilot of the Susano. The previous two pilots failed to control the SHINIGAMI system, and it burned them out. In order to activate the SHINIGAMI system, the Pilot has to verbally disable the limiter and manually input a code word of his choice, one for each of the four levels of the SHINIGAMI system. Levels one through three increase the output of the Susano exponentially, but level four is a desperation move that funnels all the generated power through the frame at once, burning out the circuits and killing the pilot nine times out of ten. The one time that it didnít kill the pilot, it left him catatonic, so level four is a real method of last resort.

The Susanoís S-Type frame without the Pilot Block. You can easily see that the top half was inspired by the C-Type frame used in the Solice.

Creatorís Notes
This is my first AEGAKS type creation, itís actually been built for quite some time, along with four others, I just havenít been able to find the time to take pictures and upload them until now. Notes on the creation itself: The guns are almost a direct copy of the Titanís gun, since Iím not terribly good at building firearms. The only problem Iíve found with using this frame is that the upper body is too heavy for the lower body to pose with, which is why the legs are all in the same position in the pictures. Credit goes to Jason Dominguez for the AEGAKS name and the head, upper body, machine guns, and inspiration for the Armored pilot block.

Quoting LEGO ROBOT CHICKEN . Hmmmm... What frame did you use and how did you joint the arms.Anyway sweet moc
The frame I used is what I term the 'D-Frame'. It is a sort of hybrid of Jason's C-Type and M-Type frames. The arms use standard Exo-Force click joints.

Great Mech, Quick Question, Do You Like Gundam, Gundam 00? To Be Exact. Also, Not Trying To Be Mean, But It's "Susanoo" Not "Susano".

I know that the original Japanese name is 'Susanoo', but I didn't like how it sounded. To answer your initial question, yes I am fan of Gundam, more a fan of G-Gundam, but I also like Gundam 00. Thanks for the comment. Schrado.

Quoting qwerty 10 This is awesome! I had ideas bouncing in my head about an armored pilot block, but never got around to build it, and if I do build it now, I don't know how it can compete with yours... Its awesome! And I was wondering, what makes this an S-frame, and not a M-frame (Medium) or an L-frame (Large)?
The S in S-Frame stands for Shinigami. originally I had thought to call it the D-type, for Dual or the B-Type for Booster, but I went with S. The M-Frame has a different upper body than the S-Frame, the S-Frame uses an upper body very much like the C-Frame used on the Solice.

Quoting Jason Dominguez Well I am doubly impressed. I would like you to make a tutorial for the SHINIGAMI and your Armored Pilot Block and I would like to add the link to the tutorial thread.
Do you mean the Shinigami system core or the Shinigami frame? I'll be happy to take pictures of the pilot block when I find time to do so, and the system core isn't terribly complicated, so it shouldn't take too long.

Quoting CEO Luiz Camargo A lot of new concepts for AEGAKS, like armored pilot block and system core... The tonfas/swords are awesome, the color scheme is very nice. I'd just modify the legs lenght, they looks too small compared to the arms. Unless you want to give it a gorilla look... But it's an overall explendid work! Keep building!
This is actually a redesign of my original S-Type Legs, the original had legs that were a stud or two longer, but they used twice the amount of joint pieces for a slight increase in height. I decided to re-do the thighs to use a 3-stud socket instead of a single socket and single joint piece fastened together. Thanks for the review!
