These are the LEGO sets I designed that came out in 2010.
About this creation
I’m going to allow comments this year (as otherwise they turn up all over my MOCs) but remember this is MOC Pages and these are LEGO sets, not MOCs so please do not rate these sets unless you are posting a comment! I have provided links to Brickset where I would prefer you post a reviews (I read all the reviews on my sets both on Brickset and LEGO.com), but the LEGO.com site is no longer accessible for reviews once the item is no longer for sale.
Set Designer = person responsible for the finished LEGO set.
Sketch Model = first version, or early version of the models eventually included in a set.
(I have only included sketch model credits on sets where the final model is heavily influenced by my sketch, others, for example; ‘Squidman’s Pitstop’, are so far removed from the initial sketch that it feels wrong to claim any responsibility.)
Note: No LEGO set can exist without a huge team of people: from the rest of the Design Team; to Supply Chain, Production, Prototyping, Marketing, Packaging, Packing, the Online Team, HR, Accounting, Legal, Administration and Parts Design, to name a just a few. All these thousands of people work together at The LEGO Group to get these sets into your hands and every one of them are as vital to the final product as the Designers. So feel free to blame them too if you don’t like the colour of the wheels or wanted more mini-figures!!
Cheers,
Mark.

LEGO Games
8344 Creationary - T-Rex
Okay, this one is cheeky; I did play test Creationary a couple of times and help choose some of the pieces but all credit for the game belongs to Cynthia B. and the rest of the Creationary team.
But that’s my Tyrannosaurus Rex on the box!

Creationary on Brickset
Just the T-Rex, maybe the lighthouse too, but I’m not sure.
Then on to 2011, where I worked on Atlantis and Space!

OHHHH!! YOUR THE OWN WHO DESIGNED SMASH'N'GRAB!! It's a really good set. |

When the set 5981 came out with that guy with a blacktron logo i was excited of a possible return of the blacktrons as a good counterpart to space police. But SP is now closed. Its sad that Lego dont find back to the days of spreaded themes of good guys, civilians and bad guys. |

Mark,
Great work. One thing I really like is the use of the cowcatchers in the radar for set 5985. That's the kind of NPU we see from experienced AFOLs but often doesn't make it into official sets. I also really like the trans-blue axe head in that set - as a castle guy I see that as some sort of magical crystal weapon.

Having a giant robot that can turn into an undersea tank is like a dream come true. Thanks for the great work, also, I happen to own all the space police stuff, which by far, save for the batman stuff, has been my favorite thing lego has released in the passed decade. Well, that and the new slave 1. But that's besides the point, appreciate all the good work you've done, and look forward to the new stuff you throw at us. |

Three things amaze me:
1; The ability you guys -designers- have to generate new sets with a "no limit" imagination
2; beside your work, you still keep building more and more mocs on your own
3; the pleasure you take by creating is obvious... and kind of "spready"! ^^
Thank you and please, don't stop. |

It's fun to see who actually contributed to making the sets I see everytime I walk into walmart. On a different note, do you know if they're discontinuing the pirates theme? |

Thanks again guys, and particular thanks to those who bought any of these sets!
Answering a few questions.
Easy way to become a LEGO Designer? I'm not sure it's easy, but get a university degree in any kind of Design area, Product or Industrial Design is perfect but any design is fine, and keep using your imagination.
Cross RC or more Technic with Space? If we need either to make something into the best toy it can be then I guess we will do it!
Bring back Exo-Force? I loved Exo-Force, if I can ever bring it back I will, but there are no plans to do so - if there was I wouldn't comment on your suggestion! |

Hey, any chance you can talk the Lego Group into bringing back Exo-Force or something like it? |

And if I may humbly suggest something for futur sets: you should try to mix RC systems with the space collection or atlantis. Some king of crossover between the technic and the space collection. It would be really cool ;-) |

I loved most of these sets.
Especially the space police base. First, it has the two transblue rond parts on top I have been waiting for a long time. And I especially loved the way you reversed the sliding doors.
Thanks for all the parts in this set I'll be using in my MOCs. |

Congratulations to you and your colleagues. For me 2010 was the year of BL orders to get a pool of bricks (in addition to the ones I 'borrowed' from my nephew) which allows me to build the MOCs that I want. 2011 will be my year of LEGO® sets and by what I’ve seen in the latest catalogue, I’m sure you will not become redundant. |

Thanks for the comments everyone.
I have to get special permission to talk about any LEGO sets until one month before they come out, so I can't make any comments about the space sets I worked on until June! No leaks from me, sorry! |
