This model depicts the production area of a winery (where grapes first enter the winery) and is loosely inspired by several wineries found in South Australia.
About this creation
Above and below you can see the main production area with the potter drainers and presses in the foreground and the crusher and control room in the background. Once the grapes are crushed they travel via a system of augers to either the potter drainer where the skins ans stalks ferment to produce red wine, or to the presses where the juice is drawn off and pumped into cold storage to begin the white wine process.
At this end of the winery you can see the maintenance workshop with its saw-toothed roof and the refrigeration plant and its components. The refrigeration plant services the insulated white tanks and keeps the juice cold before secondary processing is carried out.
this is absolutely gorgeous work! i love industrial mocs, and this one more than nails it! i m stunned to see the professionalism of this build, i don t know if you ve seen my train depot, but, i m aiming for a feel and looks, along the same line, exept on 2 gray baseplates, i lack the ground space, but, i can go in height, you have inspired me too! excellent work on this incredibly detailed moc!

An excellent way to represent the industrial design in lego building. Congratulations.
Thank you Severus! I was determined to build something industrial and this moc started out as a train facility and then a fuel depot and then it hit me that I know exactly how wineries look, so I stripped it down and began the winery as it is now. The only original part is the wide catwalk and staircase right in the centre of the model. Thanks again.

It looks so realistic, down to the most exquisite details.
I really like those photos taken from a minifig's viewpoint; it feels as if we were on a guided tour of the facility.
Thanks ezd. I'm glad you enjoyed the tour! Keep an eye out because I haven't quite finished a few areas (especially in and around the workshop building) so new pics will be uploaded soon.

Very nice! I live in Northern California and have visited many winery's in Napa and Sonoma and I must say, you nailed the look. Brilliant work!
Hi Bones. Thanks for the compliment. I knew there would be at least one person out there who was familiar with wineries! I spent about 6 years of my life as an industrial painter painting and cleaning wineries throughout the Riverland district of South Australia, so that is where my vision for this model has come from.
