About this creation
Mere hours before, I had picked up a disturbance in the fabric of reality. In this universe, with beings of great power nearly everywhere, disturbances were not uncommon. The intruiging factor of this disturbance was the fact that I registered it while shut down. That should be impossible even if I was active, for I had no equipment that could detect such a disturbance. Another factor that sparked my interest was that only I had found it, as if it were looking specifically for me. From my observation, disturbances were not animate. So, I did the only logical option. I took the bait.
Approaching the spatial disturbance, I realized that I had misjudged the nature of the disturbance. Firstly, it was not merely a disturbance in this reality, but, upon closer observation, appeared to be cross-dimensional. Secondly, upon approaching the disturbance, I was engulfed by a rift in the space-time continuum. The abnormal conditions within caused most of my robot body to seriously malfunction, meaning I would need to rebuild myself...
I crashed out of the portal and straight into a pile of scrap, my ruined form matching the contents of the junkyard around me. Unable to see anything, I reached out from my old body to the machinery around me, drawing each piece towards the rest as I asembled myself a new body. Fusing the last circuts together with a spark of electrical energy, I stood once more, looking at my surroundings to find that I was, indeed, in a scrapyard. "Not what you expected?" A voice with seemingly no body noted, as if it had read my processor directly. "I don't blame you. Any naturally-created being would have been able to hold up to the stress of interdimensional travel. We needed to redirect the portal last-minute to keep you from dissapating in the void."
"I assume that you are classified as a 'great being' then." I observed.
The voice said nothing, then congradulated me. "Bravo. Only a great being could command such power so easily."
"I observe the facts. I assess the situation. I take my action. This is the way I work." I stated. "You obviously need me for something. I work best when I know what I need to do."
"All in good time, Alpha. All you need to know is that you should observe the others along for the same journey. Your personal quest for the meaning of life is one that must be observed through others, for what you seek begins with friendships.
"Within your battery you will find a metal coin: this is the crest of creativity. You will discover it's purpose soon enough. Also, I will set up a protective ward around you for the duration of this journey, so that you may use the portals without being damaged. I will now bring you to the others."
As the Great Being finished it's speech, I felt the now familiar feeling of being drawn across the dimensions, falling through the Rift towards whatever should await me...
