The SAPPHIRE Assault Ship was inspired by Halo's Vulture, at least the front of it was. This tops off my winter-break building, I hope you enjoy!
About this creation
The SAPPHIRE is a new ship built by the Dawn Forge. The ship was originally designed to fly beside the DF dropships for much needed protection, but their effectiveness has allowed the SAPPHIRE to be used in battle.

The SAPPHIRE has a single pilot, but requires a large amount of maintenance (not including repairs) outside of battle. In the above picture you can see the primary air intake, flood lights, and the VTOL thrusters.

The SAPPHIRE is coated in a titanium alloy infused with corundum crystals (giving rise to it's name) that are designed to dull the blades of attacking Csek while on or hovering close to the ground.

Nice shot from behind...

This side view shows the VTOL thrusters. The pilot is standing below the ship for scale. The tail of the ship was original inspired by a shark tail

Unlike a shark, the primary thrust comes from the first set of "wings", additional engines are located in the back for stability
Now for the weapons!

The barrels located on either side of the cockpit fire AP485 armor piercing rounds.

Two .44 caliber turrets on each wing

Side-mountain mortar tubes, these give the SAPPHIRE a nice pirate-ship feel :)

A new, long barreled design of the Mossberg Brownie, and two Cobalt bombs to clear an area of all life

I probably should have closed this area, too many maintenance men have ben trapped down there...

Hi Zane I really like your SAPPHIRE and Dusk Dragon, and so I'd like to ask if you could post instructions for the Sapphire because I would like to use it in a sci-fi trilogy story that I will post soon. Thanks
Well I'm glad you like it, but instructions will be difficult due to the fact that I have already disassembled it, and even then instructions are hard to make. But you are more than welcome to build your own and use it for your story :) |

Well you know what they say about maintenance men. You can't kill them and then stuff their caracsses in a hold to just one! Anyway this is a death dealing work of art. I would love to do some Dawn Forge myself but I don't have nearly the amount of grey to pull it off. I guess I'll have to stick to other genres for the time being. |

Beautiful ship here. Detailing with blue was a good choice and the weapons are wonderfully designed. Though it seeme to me that this craft would benefit from having a copilot/gunner.
To be honest, I really wanted to have a second pilot, and I could have included him but I only had one of those blue visors... haha |

Love the turrets. How did you get the rings around the base of the turrets to go on a slant with the shape of the wing?
