Blood, sweat and tears, but the Battlestar grows
About this creation
First a couple of side views. The engine still needs a lot of work, again a lot of angles which of course can't be covered by standard wedges.

The launch bays are decorated with tiles, difficult to see, maybe some lighting inside

The front shape I've saved for the last, just because it has so many angles to cover.

It seems the basic shape of the head is there. Maybe the command center needs to be resized a bit more, and at the bottom the plating is still missing.

Detailing is still a point of concern, I hope to figure it out all in time.
I'm trying to show you more soon.
Thanks for watching and feel free to comment!

Quoting Stan Tackett This is FANTASTIC!!!! I'm wanting to start a project like this myself. Would you mind too terribly much if I used this as a model? I need to be able to see something to actually mimic it. Hence, my true artistic skills are nonexistent :D
Hi Stan, thanks for the comment. It's no problem for me if you want to use my creation as an example of inspiration :-) It's always a pleasure to meet fans of the Battlestar Galactica series. Your message is at the same time a trigger for me to continue the work! Success with your build, and when you feel ready, please post some pictures.

Very fine! Can you put minifigures in it? That would make a great Lego movie, seeing people inside and vipers and raiders flyin' around, while Boomer, Starbuck, and Apollo had some ambrosia and played pyramid...I don't know. I'm rambling. Great job!

Quoting Jeff Sichta Magnificent! Two questions, however...(1) How much does this monster weigh, and (2) what are its dimensions? Thanks much!
Hi Jeff, she's 12 kg's now and about 135 cm tall. I expect to add another 2 kg's plating and detailing before she's finished.

Quoting Garry King This baby is coming along beautifully. Keep up the incredible progress and construction
I've never dreamt to bring this project that far. But from this point there's no way back or to stop before it's finished. I only hope to find time available to get things done, thanks!

Quoting Benjamin McRobert Awsome! Btw I think that round thing on the floor is a model train round-house. Am I correct?
Yes, you're right. That project is still in design stage. I had to break it down before we moved to this house. Everything still in boxes except the round-house.

Quoting Hans DendauwNPD The Battlestar looks massive and magnificent! But what is the big circular thing on the floor, another project? Is it even LEGO? My curiosity is peaked!~H
Hi Hans, Benjamin is right, it's a model train roundhouse, unfortunately no lego.

Quoting Mark Kelso Very nice. Love the scale you're working in - should be able to pull out some solid details eventually. The form is coming along nicely, as well. Looking forward to seeing more.
So far so good, when I'm ready for those solid details I might be visiting you to find some advice? The scale was a matter of available wedges for the launchbays. I hope to get back with more results soon.

Quoting michael D Great build, I love that you are building the old school version. I love the new Battlestar, but the fact that you'd take the time to build this is Fantastic.
Thanks Michael, I grew up with the old series, so that's why I'm trying to get this ole lady alive and kicking! No matter the time it takes :-)
