What happens when a Clone Trooper comes face-to-chest with a Centurion of the Cylon Empire?
About this creation
Hint: it probably doesn't bode well for him.
This was going to be my entry to the Cliffhanger contest, until I noticed it was 8x8 only.
As you can see, when the choices are "hit the giant, clawed robot with your blaster" and "take a flying leap over a pit of lava", a Clonie has his head on right.
Have you watched Valley Of Darkness recently? Centurions in close combat are not fun to be around.
"Clip him off at the knees!"
I've noticed there's two major classes of Six; there's the friendly Sixes, which are really friendly, if you know what I mean nudge nudge wink wink and all that, and there's the vicious sixes, which you don't really see nearly as much of, given that they seem to spend all their time flying Heavy Raiders around, rather than lurking in the corridors of Baseships hoping to catch a glimpse of Caprica's new Baltar-shaped toy.
As for the hair colour: I'm pretty sure there were a couple of non-blonde Sixes. I know the rebel leader from season 4 was one of 'em, and I distinctly recall spotting one with dark hair at some point, although I've probably got some details confused somewhere.
So where's the Cliffhanger part come in? Well, he's jumping over a pit of molten rock. And it's not the Real Life molten rock, which you can run right over if you move quickly and don't mind ruining your shoes (and which would've hardened long ago in a standing pool like that): this is TVland lava, which has the viscosity of water when you're out of it, molasses when you're in it and will kill you instantly if you have the temerity to poke it with a stick to see if it's lava or one of those things that looks exactly like it, like boiling tomato sauce or blood.
(Hmm.. methinks image #6 should have been a closeup of the Six herself. Oh well.)
The only thing wrong with that Centurion fig is that it's probably just a bit too short. Or a minfig's head is too big. Either way.
I'd put the usual "rate and comment!11!!!" thing here, but I personally find it irritating as frak, and we all know I don't like people who complain about something and then turn around and do it themselves.
Cool, I like how you did the chasms and the way you have the clone held up! The Cylon is also very cool, unfortunately since I don't watch the new series I'm only familiar with the Cylons of old, however I'm sure you did a good job replicating the new version. All-in-all a great build!
Ha! Nice design on the Centurion. And this is a really satisfying little build, too. Not only does it have some BSG subject matter, but it's got a clone about to bite it. Burn baby, BURN!!!
The way to have him suspended in mid-air you chose is clever, I don't think I would have thought of something that simple! Really nice work, the lava pit looks great as well :)
Really like the lava effect. I haven't seen much (any) modern Galactica, My only experience is from the 80's show and the centurions are just about as incompetent as clones. But very nice dio, looking forward to see what you do with 8 by 8!
