Nova: Greener is always better
If you are still looking for a reason to fly Nova Airlines after all the things we have already told you about the Nova experience, here is a new reason: flying Nova not only helps you get to your destination, it helps the people around you by flying a greener airline
About this creation
Here is how Nova Airlines can be a greener airline:

1) Ground services

Nova Airlines has invested a lot in bringing new technologies to airports near you. Lately, we have invested in a new fleet of fuel efficient vehicles that lower considerably our carbon imprint. After replacing all our cars by electric models last year, and asking our employees to do the same, Nova Airlines is introducing for 2011 new hybrid buses. These buses will not only serve for passenger to plane transfer, but also for personnel transport. A prototype was just put into service at Maxim International Airport, and will be joined by more during the year. Nova hopes to have 30 of these up and running throughout it's hubs at Maxim City, Maxim International, Nalo, Paris, Rail-ha, as well as major dechainé pact destinations by the end of 2011. Here are pictures of the first bus on a test run:

the front of this new fuel efficient vehicle. The new buses will wear different liveries (depending on airport of operation) but at Maxim International and Maxim City, they will wear this blue and white, Nova like livery.

The first bus parked next to a B757. The majority of these buses will bring passengers from the terminal to their planes.

These buses offer lots of windows, giving a nice opportunity for passengers to enjoy the airport scenes. A door is available on the right side to let the passengers in and off.

Like all modern buses, this bus has back windows to let the driver see behind. Due to airport day and night operations, the bus is highly visible from the back to let all vehicles around it (like planes) know it is there.

The right side of the bus. Notice the roof lights that let airport personnel know a vehicle is present. These lights, also visible from the sky, are a safety major. These lights are LED which resume in higher energy savings.

The rear view mirrors also are equipped with lights to worn passing vehicles of presence of the bus. This also helps them assess the size of the bus.

A nicer night image of the bus. It is widely based on the new bank truck that comes with the new lego bank.

The bus seen from the top. Notice the roof emergency exit at the back.

The bus next to a Nova Airlines Boeing 757-200 on it's way to Paris. Notice the horns on the roof that help tell the presence of the bus.

2) In flight

Nova has also invested to lower CO2 emissions in flight. These include lighter seats that were introduced two years ago, the use of the industries newest and best aircrafts, and the fitting of these aircrafts with winglets and newer engines. Almost every Nova Airlines aircrafts is equipped with winglets. Winglets help save considerable fuel amounts on every flight, which helps the environment. We have also a new system to calculate routes that take into account fuel savings, so we can come up with the most fuel efficient flight paths. We also try to minimize taxi time, and use the newest painting technics, which result in a lighter aircraft. Our research teams are also studying fuel alternatives to help make flight more sustainable.
Flying Nova Airlines is a Green Warranty, an assurance that the airline has done all that is possible to have a greener flight!

Winglets play a big role in Nova Airlines strategy for greener flights. They are installed on MARJ-60s, CRJ-700s, B737s, B757s and A330s. A320 family members have wing fences which also play their role in reductions.

3) The future

Nova Airlines promises to continue it's green policy. For that, we have ordered the newest technologies, which include a future long haul fleet of Airbus A350s, as well as new A320 members equipped with Sharklets, Airbus' new winglet technology for A320 members. These aircrafts will replace our current A320 fleet, and, with the New Engine Option for the A320 arriving in 2017, will ensure Nova Airlines to have one the best fuel efficient fleets of the world!

Quoting Stephen Abbott Great builds and a creative topic for a MOC! I love the A320 with sharklets . . . hehe. All your MOVCs are so catchy; keep up the good work!
Thank you! :D. I noticed Lego is coming out with a new promotional jet this year: http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/7696_Airline_Promotional_Set I'm hoping to get a few to modify them. I also started work on the next version of my B737s (new landing gear, and wings), but I'm not too happy with it. Happy new year
