Santa-Nui
-Version II- Believe it or not; he's canon. Created by the Great Beings eons ago, Santa-Nui continues to carry out his duty.
About this creation
Before we get onto Anything, here's a link to the original made by me almost a year ago.
Borrowed designs aren't. He's made with only designs which I either came up with on the spot (his robe) or old ones - my habitual angular torso design and, of course, the famous Shark-head beard ensemble ^^
And now onto the MOC:

--------------------

Name: Santa-Nui
Gender: Male
Species: Great Spirit
Race: -
Occupation: Spirit of giving, Appears on average every 365.4 days to all civilizations touched by the Great Beings.
Title(s): Father, Spirit, 'Saint'
Element: Time
Kanohi: None
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Typical Weapon: Pacifist, but carries a flame staff.
MOC Status: Assembled

(Position Music - We Wish You A Merry Christmas)

Santa-Nui was created by The Society not long after it abandoned Earth, but before they began referring to themselves as the "Great Beings". ((Note that my storyline gives the Beings a rather different beginning)). Ezru was one of the members working in his creation - the idea of creating a Great Spirit was already manifest, but they needed to test and see if one could be successfully released. Santa-Nui was their success, and proceeded to do the duty that Father Christmas was originally believed by many children to do.

Santa-Nui could control time to a certain extent - it would only manifest to him every 24th of December to allow him to freeze time and begin a long task of toy creation and delivery before time resumed and he would become dormant again. It was a long while before he discovered an ability to conjure primitive versions of what later spirits called Matoran. He created about fifty of them to aid him, and embedded into a small, icy planet not far from Spherus Magna to give them a base of operations.

He has almost nothing to do with christianity. The Society were not religious, and so he reflected quite a commercial, capitalist view of Christmas whenever he manifested to sentient races. His figure was that of a plump glatorian, old and sagelike in a red and white robe. He had no way of entering the Matoran Universe.

Each Elemental Lord had a cycle within the Matoran Universe for a sixth of the year. During Xalos' reign as Icelord - one of the most vicious cycles - his brother Gringat took up a similar role, secretly rewarding matoran who had positively affected the M.U. by transforming into wind and transferring gifts during the night at the heigh of Xalos' cycle. Gringat, upon meeting Santa-Nui on Spherus Magna, was a little put off by him due to how similar - and yet how different - he was.

-------

A 'cutaway' shot to show how he looks beneath the robe and armour. His robe was tricky - on the 2009 version it was only 2 axalara plates, one for each leg. This time around I wanted to make it look more like clothing - especially since the success I had had with Brogas' robe. Each pleat moves individually, and the front ones appear to 'lace up' at the front. And he has mistletoe on his hat.

And here's a shot with all of my LEGO®-related christmas presents! :D

I know I'm a bit late to the party, but I must say I like it. Can we expect to see an upgrade, or is this the final? It is nice though.

That robe is very clever, I like how it seems to look like a fabric as it seems to fall from his body. A great remake, and I'm still loving that beard. :D

Santa Nui is epic! He gives toys and candy to good boys and girls while he gives Thornax fruit to the bad ones. Anyways, once again, I say that this Santa MOC is epic!

You know, i love how you made santa into the bionicle universe, and how you made everthing possible that they never explain in the "belief" of santa clause. Also, i like that you mentioned it doesn't have to do with religion, because many kids sometimes believe in santa more than a god (jesus as example) Now for the moc: amazingly detailed, love the beard the robe is cool and genius body: awesome staff: good but why would santa need it, s a cane?

Awesome :D Why did I get a silly feeling to build my own santa moc? xD Maybe I'd call him Pukki-Nui or Joulu-Nui, derived from the Finnish name of Santa Claus, Joulupukki. Maybe next year... :DDD Nice lego presents. I didn't get any as I got only money. 430 euros is a nice amount, I'm gonna order the Technic Motorized Excavator :D Then I might build a R/C Bio-Racer. Maybe I'll try Bricklink too :D

Quoting Skrall Razor Warrior of the Night Does Mata Nui know him?
They first met on Spherus Magna after Teridax's death, and then after Mata-Nui died he obviously didn't know Santa-Nui anymore.
