My final MOC for 2010! 1970 was a great year for muscle cars, in case you haven't noticed. The redesign for the Camaro came that year, and the new body style was an instant hit on the streets. Although the performance version's engine had been bored out to 402 cubic inches, Chevy still badged it as a 396. (???) So don't let that confuse you when you read the specs below!
About this creation
1970 Chevy Camaro SS396
Top speed: 128 mph (205 km/h)
0-60 mph (0-96 km/h): 6.2 seconds
Engine type: V8
Displacement: 402 ci (6,587 cc)
Transmission: 4-speed manual
Max power: 375 bhp (280 kw) @ 5,600 rpm
Max torque: 415 lb ft (562 Nm) @ 3,200 rpm
Weight: 3,550 lb (1,613 kg)
Economy: 14 mpg (4.96 km/l)
No matter what LEGO does, these front ends will always be HARD to make. But I think it turned out nice, considering the minimal SNOT work.
Finally, a chassis design that really stands out!
Why... WHY?!?!... Couldn't Chevy just badge it as a 402?!
For the last time in 2010, everything's open...
Well everyone, this year has been simply awesome. I've taken the time to explore small-scale cars, and maybe even a gun or two. But for 2011, I hope to be back at what I enjoy building the most... 10-wide cars, of course! And who knows?! Maybe I can even get the lighting to work the way I need it to. But right now, I'd like to thank everybody who made 2010 a great year for me! Your support and constructive criticism are always.... ALWAYS greatly appreciated. And I most certainly look forward to seeing what 2011 has in store for us.
And with that, I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas, and a happy new year! And of course, I hope you like the Camaro... *nudge*
