Battle Rifle
My best gun and my best creation this year. End result: 3 feet long! About three days worth of work was put in to this gun so I would like your feedback on what I can correct in the near future.
About this creation
After three days with lots of swearing and bricklink orders, I have finally finished the iconic rifle from the video game HALO 2.

Front shot.

Three pronged muzzle shroud. Credit goes to Nick Jensen.

Grip and trigger guard.

Scope and ammo counter.

Stock. The butt plate is the magazine.

Not sure what these vents are for, but I had to include them. Does anyone know?

Overall front view without scope.

Magazine with bullet.

Scope close up.

Views of me and my brother holding this massive weapon. To give you an idea of how big this gun really is, I'm about 5'6 and this gun is about 3 feet long. That's really life size!

I'll leave you all with a nice FPS shot.

Amazing! This has great detail. Something i forgot on the m4 is that you pobably dont want that date on the main picture, its a bit odd i guess...

good job, the vents are for harmlessly venting gas. as gas goes down the barrel, most will feed through a piston, cycling a new round and expelling the gas.

Quoting Sevix (formerly 3 and a half foot sniper who was formerly know as jswish) it very accurate but it too wide. it should be 4 wide thoughout the whole thing the but other wise great interpretation
Actually if you think about it, these weapons were made for adults in the UNSC so really the rifle is still too small.

Quoting christian boaz looks pretty good, although there is no trigger, the scope could use some work and it just seems a little too bulky.
yeah, I hate the scope. Actually, if you were a spartan, this gun probably wouldn't be bulky enough.

Yay! My favorite weapon in all the Halo series. Really good to. Especially the size. The only think would you could add to make it look better is some more bulkiness to the front part of the grip. But ya, everything else is great.

The vents are actually there because the clip is loaded into the stock, much like with the AR-15. They allow air to cycle through the action, helping to cool the gun. Overall, excellent creation, though the handguard does seem a bit to short. But that's just me.

I make my building instructions in LDD, using the LEGO Universe theme pack. Try that out.

The vents vent heat from the barrel away from the gun. This is to keep the chamber temperature down to prevent rounds getting hot enough to ignite on their own and firing when you don't want to fire,

Quoting Josiah Blake WoW! I have never seen such an awesome battle rifle. About how many pieces did you use to build it. I will not ask for instruction because I know you will not make them.
Actually I might consider making instructions, as I really don't want to destroy this gun anytime soon. Do you know of a program to do so?

Very nice! You're getting better at life sized guns. The hand guard has a nice shape, it looks very sleek. It could've been longer, but I like it as massive as it is now.

Quoting Nick Jensen The scaling of this is impressive. Overall length looks precise, and no detail seems too big or too small, which is very difficult to do when building life-size. I'm not really a big fan of the scope though. Avoid using tires on the scope, it just doesn't look good. The removable magazine is awesome, and the bullet is a nice touch. Great job!
Yeah, I was definitely not happy about the scope, but I had already used up all of my 2 x 2 regular and inverted slopes on the body. Hopefully I can correct this later as I intend to keep this thing intact for quite a while.
