This was a two week build for the Colorado Governor's Mansion Holiday Tour 2010 as part of the CoWLUG group. It was a pain to try and replicate the barrel part of the building without all the bricks flying apart. But I think it turned out okay. The architect for the real Denver Public Library is Michael Graves.
Here's my MOC next to a photo of the actual building so you can get an idea in case you've never been to Colorado.
This is a sculpture by Donald Lipski that actually sits outside the Library. It's called The Yearling and has a horse on it, but the Lego horse was not the right scale for the build so I used a dog. The real sculpture is actually many times bigger than a person, so it looks funny here, but it's the right scale.
This red sculpture is actually more orange in real life and is called Lao Tzu by artist Mark di Suvero. They call it "the big orange thing."
Walter the cat making it difficult to shoot the photos, but good for scale comparison.

Am I the first one to notice Admiral Ackbar in one of the pictures? He's everywhere in your MOC's!! Anyway, very well done. Too bad for the interior thought.
Congrats for noticing him in other MOCs too. He's kind of my standard Easter Egg among other things I add here and there. Thanks, and yeah, would be cool if I'd had time or enough bricks to do an interior for this one. :)
No time for an interior. I had two weeks to build this. Honestly, since it's scaled down slightly the interior would be skewed. So if I wanted to do the interior I'd have to do it to scale the whole thing would be incredibly huge.
