Meant to uparm the fleet's anti-shipping capabilities, the 18th commissioned these dreadnoughts. Called the Dawn Trek-class, this class set a new bar for armor, speed, and hitting power.
About this creation

With thirteen different weapons systems-from torpedo tubes to pre-assault barrage packages (PAB)-it is by far the superior of the Glorious Dawn-class battle cruisers.

On the bow, the 12 tubes that face forward are for blanket fire missile salvos. The 18" monsters that rocket themselves forward have been known to take down unwary cruisers in mere moments.

Turret No. 3 has the most armament density of them all. Starting with standard 20" guns, two 12" rail guns, and two ballistic 'shotguns.' The latter launches 100 pellets at one time. It is considered part of the AA.

Turret No. 5. Utilizing the ball turret concept, this turret guards the underside and six o'clock. Mounting 30" guns, it is by far the heaviest armament on the ship.

In addition to the missiles and fixed guns, the large half-circle holds an impressive array of detection and ranging equipment, giving it the most accurate gunnery in the fleet.

Turret No. 2 is actually not a turret, but a fixed emplacement. In order to allow the same firepower without stacking, it was necessary to lower the turret and fix it.

Here's what drives the beauty. Four maneuvering thrusters, and one main engine. If the main engine is knocked out, the maneuvering thrusters can propel it at about half its normal sub-light speed.

Far from being a bridge, this clear portion is instead an observation deck, occasionally used by the commanders for visual inspections of battlefields when viewscreens just won't cut it.

You probably recognize these pieces, I couldn't help but use them again.

Interesting use of the huge curved pieces. The whole ship is really well done, but that's probably my favorite part. |

Tens of thousands of ships slowly whittled down to a few thousand, aye. Not to mention, it takes a long time to move people around, that's why Earth isn't getting steamrolled, I'd imagine.
Hmmm... Hehehehe |

Tell that to the WH 40k fans... Or the COP with tens of thousands of ships to their stories. |
|
|
Oh, I did read the backstory. I'm in agreement with Danny about the stats, but 555 billion is better than 1.2 trillion any day, especially for three planets, which are not even close to the globe-spanning cities they'd have to be to support such a population. In fact, Hondus was mentioned once in one of my unpublished COP stories, something about being tough fighters... |
|
|
I love the amount of firepower this brings to the battle. Definitely a great micro-scale battlecruiser! |
|
|
Lol Danny, you're quite the patriot. I can't ignore the 18th Fleet, Ultra is just too worthy an adversary. But you have a point, some of the statistics are way out there for the 40 years Earth has been in space. |

2) you still didn't answer my question. Where did you get the resources? 3) 'measly'? Our ships are 'measly' you say? Think again bud. 'measly' ships can't take down the High Ground. 4) I think you are trying to make out your sub faction is more powerful than it is.
Hehehe. 1) The dirty little secret is, the UNE lets me have my little faction, while conveniently ignoring the fact that it is non-canon. You see, the UNE needs me, since I'm the only one that can win a MOC-off for them...
2) We have three home planets, lots of mining colonies, and about 555 Billion citizens.
3) While we were still allied with the COP (Before the EOS war ended), our Dawn Bringer-class ships took a Executor-class ship down. So, uh, we can do it too.
4) Well, I respectfully request that you prove me wrong. |

Cool ship! Looks perfectly capable of taking out a COP frigate, and maybe even a full sized battle cruiser if there were 5 of these in a pack.
Haha. I don't think you fully grasp the true capability of this ship. The Glorious Dawn is a battle cruiser, and this ship class is much larger by about 50%. I'm thinking it could stand its own against the Hammer of Tyre, but don't tell Awe that... |

Cool design for a battle cruiser. I'd love to try and improve on that, once I have some building time.

Fascinating design, and looks deadly to capital class ships. But can it handle small one man fighters?
It does have a full compliment of AA, but like any capital ship, it should be surrounded by corvettes and destroyers which have a lot more of that. |
