Sasketan Harasser: Alien Cruiser
Belonging to a mysterious insectoid race, these powerful vessels are especially effective at capital ship killing.
About this creation

Very little is known about the Sasketan. We call them that because that's the audible sound that they make. We believe that they are only a partial hivemind, because they work efficiently in large numbers, but move and act more clumsily individually.

These ships are roughly larger than frigates, but smaller than destroyers. The technology is very alien to our sciences. Their FTL technology is vastly different that ours, able to reach destinations very quickly and smoothly through the fabric of space-time, like a drop falling onto still water.

The two appendages that have folded out in the aft section of the ship appear to be connected to their FTL. What purpose they serve, and how they interact with the system, we can only speculate.

Note the large bay-like structures on the belly of the harasser. The Sasketan don't seem to understand the concept of small, single pilot ships, and we did not understand the purpose of these structures. Until the harassers began to bolt themselves to the hulls of our capital ships and filling them with antlike Sasketan soldiers, if they can be called that.

Each troop bay has 9 exits locks for rapid deployment of the "crawlers" as we call them. They're hulking 8 foot tall creatures with thick powerful hind legs, and thick strong forelimbs, to which large gunlike weapons are strapped. They also have smaller, far more dexterous limbs located beneath the large weapon forelimbs, with which they show amazing ability to access our controls and access points.

Harassers are the smallest ship as to yet be fielded by the Sasketan. Their weapons consist of a single linear energy weapon, we are still yet to determine how it works, and 8 point singularity weapons, which seem to fire the singularities like missiles that track their targets. Harassers use shielding of unknown type, which seems extremely effective against projectiles and explosives, making energy weapons the only weakpoint.

Sasketan ships are extremely vulnerable to fighters, as they do not use fighters nor do they seem to comprehend the concept. The larger the ship, the more effective the crew seems to operate. All ESC ships will now be designed to incorporate fighter cover for maximum defensive and offensive capability.

These ships are particularly effective at killing capital ships. A pair of Harassers can dispose of a task force of ESC Frigates, making these tough opponents in slugmatches.

The Sasketan move from world to world, devastating the surface, and killing all life on that world. Once the world has been cleansed, they build a hive into the surface and begin to terraform the world to meet their particular needs. This seems to include the importation of flora and fauna of their homeworld.

CREATOR'S NOTES

This is just a simple build for the GAIA group, as a enemy race to offset the ESC. Incidentally, they are not allied with the Draggonne.

Quoting Marc "Edge" R.unde Cool work, I see some interesting lines on this one! Looks like some tasty prey for my 'Brawler'. ~Marc
Indeed. Handy that you have something for shipkilling. But mind you, this is but one of an unknown number. Will you truely be ready?

You explain the different structures and functions better than most micro scale builders.

Nice to see a new ship and enemy for G.A.I.A. The design and story are both top notch. Keep it up for you have a quality in micro-scale to be admired.

Quoting BlaBlurBla - That one energy cannon must pack quite a punch! Nice work! . . . . . Now that I think of it though, the Sasketan kind of sound like the Tyranids from Warhammer 40k.
To be honest, I'd never played that game. I was thinking of the buggers from Ender's Game, but I made it much more savage.
