MOCIA 2, pt 20
The first practical Interactive Adventure in MOC form, and still the most popular. Continuing from last week's episode, we have...
About this creation
...our gallant hero clambering into the air vents.

After several abortive attempts:

Having gained access to the ventilation system...

...he spends a couple of minutes crawling along...

...Before coming to an intersection.

Here's a map of where he's been so far, and where he is now:

This is because his mental map of roughly where he is impossible to convey to you otherwise.

So, will you...
A: go left?
B: go right?

You have until the 4th.

Quoting cameron marsh right, definetly right if you go right my next rating will be 5 instead of 3
Well, leaving out the fact that I'm not motivated by ratings at all, it's already up to pt. 22.

They're the GIMP filters I used to add the night vision effect to the pictures.

Hmmmm. . .decisions, decisions. . .good thing I kept up with the events of the past couple of episodes (even though I didn't vote/comment), otherwise I would be totally lost. I have reached a decision! To the right, ever to the right! Never to the left, forever to the right!. . .ahem, sorry. Please excuse the musical interlude/allusion there. . .by the way, how do you give the pictures the surveillance camera look?

Quoting W Mark Hold it! That was a tank of thermagel back in the locked room! Can we go back and have a repeat of the first MOCIA? Pretty please?
It wasn't, actually. I was going through my shoebox of fiddly bits, and I never got around to dissassembling that particular thing.
Quoting danny morgan I feel there is a riddle at work here. Go the correct way. Another word for the correct way would be the right way. B. Btw excellent work so far Areetsa, ingenious MOCIA is...
Thanks. I'm not going to lie and say I don't have my own ideas on where I'm going with this, but there isn't really a "correct" path at this stage. There's a couple of plot important locations, but the most major feature of an air vent network is that it links rooms. Apart from certain critical sections which would have their own self contained systems, of course. So whichever way people decide to choose, if they carry the trip through to its natural conclusion, just about all sections will be visited eventually.
Quoting Dominick Sinclair Obviously left. I like left because the path seem longer and less dangerous. On the map, why are there corpses?
A couple installments back, after exiting the airlock and before entering Maintenance, there was an intersection with the remains of a Security officer wearing a combat exoskeleton. That's one corpse. There'll probably be more, but I'm tailoring the progress of the plot to match our hero's movements. Otherwise by the time he gets somewhere, everything'll be over.

Considering that turning Left might bring you to another section of the "Storage and matinence area, I.E., the northern top o the map, which might go better than going to the corpse room, I would personally choose "A: Left".

Quoting W Mark A: to the left. How long does it take you to edit these pictures? In my experience even GIMP's background remover takes a bit of time and effort to come out well.
Not very long; I use the Paths tool; it lets you draw your own selection area using straight lines, and lego's full of straight edges. You'll notice I try to crop the images so you can't see outside the set when I can, though. Not so much to reduce the workload, but because it's kind of jarring having the big black bits where the room merges with the void.

I vote for A, I just feel like left, always seems to work when crawling in vents. Take the original Goldeneye 007 game, the bathroom (where you have to go) is to the left, and you're in a vent system.
