Aglaeca Outpost Alpha
About this creation
Built for the Project Pelagic group . The “good guys,” (The Allies) Led by Flare are fighting the good fight against “Aglaeca” basically for control of the world in a series of undersea battles (why undersea? Couldn't tell ya but that's why it's lighted the way it is cause it's... well, undersea). Well of COURSE I had to put my two cents (or in this case, bricks) in for this battle. I was recruited by none other than Master Shifu Leo J to join the Aglaeca forces and decided to build an undersea base for our faction as we strive to overthrow the oppressors.

Being pressed for time here, I’m not going to add a whole backstory (yet) but rather let your imagination run wild with what’s what and where’s where.

Welcome to the Aglaeca Outpost Alpha! Carefull of the sharks, they tend to nibble a bit.

Fourth Wall Commentary: Most of the fourth wall stuff was covered in the opening paragraph so I’ll be brief here and let you just enjoy the regularly lighted pics.

I’ve actually had this built and sitting on my desk for a couple weeks now but just have not had any time to take the pics or post it. Such is life I guess.

I also have to apologize to everyone for not being nearly as involved on the front lines of the pages over the last couple of weeks as I have been in the past. Been dealing with some fun real life stuff. I’ll try to get around a bit more over the next few weeks before the holidays really start.

I gotta admit, I really had fun building this. It was a “quick and simple” project by my standards for something this size and I think I may come back and revisit this genre and group again in the future.

And with that said, “Long live Aglaeca!”

Till next time true believers!
~Chris.

Submerged atmophere seeems oxy-moronic in praxis, yet you pull it off nicely. The motifs of your builds are as impressive as imaginary. I'd love to see you work with different shades of lighting and color to juxtapose the ambiance of your builds; you truly have something great going on here, and I can't wait to see it further realized.

Its been sat on your desk for weeks!!! and here's me thinking LEGO started making LEGO dust, LOL.Great design, reminds me of the cold war prisons, (not the ones underwater though).

Nice lighting! Love that tube effect you use, and is that a bit of UV light I see?

Despite the fact that the UV lighting may have just triggered a migraine, this is a great deal of cool. Saucy, even. Hope everything's goin' well, ma man!

When you're away from this site for even 4 days, you get a lot of backlog for things that need to be viewed... Nice work here, Mr. Phipson.

Really sharp undersea base. I was wondering what bricks did you use for the tunnel sections they came out great?

Loving the trans-tubey goodness, even though the building looks rather plain and blocky it seems to make it more dramatic and evil...And industrial. Very cool though. :)

Very nice lighting. I enjoy the design and layout. Kind of Mies van der Rohe under the sea thing going.

Oh my! What an imposing undersea outpost. We are not worthy. You are now instantly promoted to 1.5-in-command / Thodmin's adopted son / heir to the thrown, er, throne of the Evil Aglaeca Army!

It's good, but nothing we haven't seen before. We need something new, mm... I know! You and the Kelso can go into a MOC-off to see who can build the best Alien MOC! MP needs a fresh design, and seeing as how my Xenomorph design is only a proto, I'd like to see your skills, plus I'd like to have a refresher on your guys' senses of humor.

Your design is stunningly similar to my college campus buildings. Funny, I don't recall those buildings being under water...but then, there's a lot about my college days that are a bit "fuzzy."

Very nice Chris, as several others have said those tunnels look great. What's the construction on that grey support pillar? Couldn't tell if it was stacked wheels or dish pieces. Either way I like the texture it gives.

Quoting Sushi Rice I think the AFOL brick Is in the 3d from last pic, on the underside of the big gray building sticking out.
We have a winner! Give me a link to which moc you'd like me to comment on and I'll get to it within a couple of days (I'm usually no where near a computer on Mondays and Tuesdays).

Nice creation! I like the tubes and windows, but the use of trans blue and green sort of clashes. I also think a little bit of algae or something would help the "undersea" theme. I think the AFOL brick Is in the 3d from last pic, on the underside of the big gray building sticking out. Nice MOC, and you have a LOT of dark gray my friend.

So you like tranny-tubes? Uh. Seriously though, the tubes look great as does the atmosphere created with the blacklight. I love the abstract feeling of the architecture.

Me likeee trans tubes very much. By nibbling sharks, are you talking about the allied capitalist bast?rds? Now listen to Jeff and go put some lights in there.

Sweet! Love that concrete support column made up of wheels, that just looks real. The tubes of transbricks look unreal. As usual, a neat relaistic smooth piece of work. Well, we sure got the 'good guys' on the run now! Long live Aglaeca! (and Long live GAIA - just had to throw that in)

Baby beluga in the deep blue sea, Swim so wild and you swim so free. Heaven above and the sea below, And a little white whale on the go. Baby beluga, baby beluga... Wait, no beluga whales? What kind of outpost is this? Excellent job on the architecture I must concede, but really, no beluga whales? ~Waff

It's good, but you missed a golden opportunity to put a couple of flashlights inside the buildings. With all of those transparent bricks, it would have been something to see.
