If the security cameras were armed, it wouldn't be fair. It'd be "stop moving" and if you didn't it'd be "zap" and "respawn right before cutting down the door". As it is, it's "please sit down and if the communication lines aren't cut/being jammed and there's one alive/available a store detective will come to give you the sticky fingers talk shortly". I've amended the rules to allow two "minor" actions to be taken in one round. Throwing a length of pipe is a minor action. Carving open an air vent is a minor action. Climbing into said air vent while wearing a space suit and carrying a sword and invisible portable TARDIS full of stuff, that's not.
