One of the most ingenious cockpits I've seen in YEARS. Awesome originality here. |

Blacktron is the best. I like your use of it in this ship. |

I love your Blacktron themed ship! I think the cockpit design is really cool - I've never seen those round yellow translucent pieces though.
I have a question: where did you get the torso with the little "B" for the minifig? Was it part of one of the Lego space themes, or is it custom painted?
I really like it! |

OMGSH! You FINALLY found a way to use the transparent parts of the X-pods! 15/5 for innovation! |

On the other hand. How about a blacktron III theme for kids? I am sure many kids would love the space spies back and SP3 seems like it was successful with the kids. So I think other remakes could be nice for kids AND AFOLs. It does not have to be mutually exclusive. For example an action theme in which explorers of an ice planet had to avoid spies that have robots... I don't think that would get old with kids and AFOLs like me would love it... |

Quoting Mike Johnson
I have to agree to with Parrington on both counts. First this a great design that I would buy if it were for sale. Second, why can't LEGO also produce sets that AFOL's would be willing to purchase instead of just the one's made for children. One would think the company would be interested in making a profit in these challenging times?
I don't like to talk about work on here, this is my hobby, not my job! However you raise a point I've heard several times from adult fans, so here's a very blunt answer: there aren't enough of us adult fans. There are somewhere around 10,000 of us worldwide. The smallest Atlantis set sold more then a million copies. So LEGO could make retail sets for adults but you'd all have to promise to buy 100 of them each. Remember as an AFOL you might buy one of everything, but all those sets you leave in the toy shops, they are sold to kids (often via parents) and so that's who LEGO make sets for.
And no one under around 20 remembers Blacktron anyway so lets move on with exciting new ideas and not stagnate too much in nostalgia! |

Very cool, Mark. I've never seen those windshields before but they're awesome! The whole ship looks very agressive a mean. The cockpit is top-notch as well as the mini-fig's expression! Using those wall elements for part of the wings is a great idea. I have to say, the overall shape looks very similar to my latest fighter: the Frightner. Great job again, Mark. |

Here's an idea, why not use your clout with TLG to bring back BlakTron instead of all this crap they keep producing? Hehe, great build mate... |

So great,
now that's fantastic and very speedy. The streamline and the usage of black v/s yellow completes the resemblence of a bee or hornet. |
