About this creation
Cantigny France was the site of the first American victory in World War I. It's namesake, Cantigny Park in Wheaton Illinois was built upon the estate of Colonel Robert R. McCormick, it is a recreational and educational facility. Cantigny houses Military Museums, an impressive mechanised armor collection, and stunningly beautiful gardens.
Historicly Cantigny Park has hosted a December train show. The Northern Illinois Lego Train Club has displayed at this show. The Lego display was so popular that they were asked to make it into an all Lego show. Ondrew Hartigan took on the task and organized the largest Lego train show ever held in the midwest!
Joining NILTC, were MichLUG, Michiana-LUG, and a huge independent layout for a total of four operating Lego train layouts. In addition there were castle and mecha displays.
NILTC drew upon it's experience with the official "What Would You Make" event in Chicago and incorporated this into it's always crowded play area.
The attendance of 800 on Saturday and another 900 on Sunday far surpassed the attendance of the genaric train shows. Planing for next years show is already under way!
