About this creation
As I sit here, stuffed with turkey and fixings from my early Thanksgiving feast, I can reflect on how truly grateful I am for my family, including my extended Lego family. Mushy stuff aside, enjoy my entry to Chuke Lapman's 8x8 "Massive Wangle" Vignette Contest.
I broke my bat on Johnny's head; Somebody snitched on me.

Notes - I picked this song because every year at Christmas I get amused by it. The fact that the child causing all this trouble is a girl is so unexpected, I love it. To accent that fact, I loaded up my tree with as many minifigs and accessories as I could reasonably fit.
I wanted to make a series of vignettes on this song last year, but I ran out of steam. This year, when Chuke announced his contest, the wheels in my mind started to twist (they don't turn, you see). The idea grew into a tree. Ha-ha - that's a little botanical humor for you.
I will add the proper copyright and reference information when I'm back home, and I can get out my Christmas cds. All the internet information I could find was from the original version, by S. Tepper and R. Bennett (c) 1955. EDIT - My version was performed by the Fontane sisters. In addition to changing the main character into a girl, they added these lines to the song:
I won't be seeing Santa Claus (Somebody snitched on me);
He won't visit me because (Somebody snitched on me);
Next year I'll be going straight,
Next year I'll be good just wait,
I'd start now but it's too late, 'cause somebody snitched on me!
I don't know who started the whole "massive overhang" wangle, but I love that Chuke turned it into a contest. Best of luck to all the contestants! And with that, I'm off to pumpkin pie!

Hahaha, great job Wes, loads of great details. As to the overhang wangle, I can't claim to have started it but I certainly exploited it in recent contests so I was a contributer if nothing else. Enjoy your holiday season! |

Oh wow! I had to look up the song, as it wasn't one I was familiar with (probably something to do with me being born on the wrong side of the Atlantic :-)) The tack was a personally favoueite detail, although it is all fantastid! |
