I came home on Wednesday to quite a little discovery; this discovery led to inspiration, the inspiration led to this...
About this creation
Veridian Inferno

You may be asking yourself, 'What could have inspired THIS?'...

Understandable...

I would probably be asking the same thing...

if I were in your shoes...

Oh yeah, here is a shot of the undercarriage. I like a smooth look throughout...

Where was I? That's right, the inspiration. I came home on Wednesday to an e-mail with a link to an article about the supposed early release of Series 3 minifigs at a Fred Meyer in Washington. So I grabbed the phone book and began calling the three Fred Meyers in my area to see if this could possibly be true. First and closest store, no dice. Second store...

BINGO!!! (above figs have been changed slightly:visor on cyborg, spiked shoulder/arms/legs on Squidtron)

Thus, the inspiration! The new Squidtron needed a ship so that I would have an excuse to show him off and it IS nnoVVember, so a VV was the natural choice. Once again built using nnenn's cockpit box.
Fourth Dimension Commentary: Yes, although not pictured, I did get my hands on a complete set of Series 3 minifigs. It took twenty minutes of package feeling and I had all 16, with a couple extras thrown in, and no mistakes! Of course I found out this morning that there IS in fact a way to tell them apart, without so much trouble, and I have confirmed it is true. So fear not, kiddies, despite a lack of barcodes, there will still be a way for you to make sure you get that elf! Or rapper! Or, one of my favorites and THE rarest(2 per case!), the fisherman! I don't have a link to the article, but I am sure the news will spread like wildfire, so a Google search should do it. Anyway, hope you like my latest VV!~H

even though the "limbs" are meant to represent tentacles, I'm also getting fire from the general grouping, which fits the name excellently.
Nice balanced ship with plenty of detail. love it.
Actually, that is exactly why I named it that! When arranging the tentacles and looking at it from various angles, I was reminded of flames painted on a car. Thanks for noticing!~H |

Curse you Hans! I have all but the elf! Really neat-o VV, i suppose I should build one myself, it being nnoVVember and all. I'll build one for the space villian...
So it would be uncool to tell you I got (2)? I'll keep that to myself then. LMAO But you got a fisherman, so THAT was good! Now get that VV done, there's only 8 days left.~H |

Lovely techno-organic look Hans, and I always like a combo of black and lime-green. Thanks for the close-up on our cyborg/ space pirate buddy - another Blacktron Logo! Bearing in mind the Pharoah and mummy preceded a new Egyption theme, does this point the finger at where the space theme goes next?
And I've already told you what I think of your recent lucky finds (it wasn't pretty folks, but it was pure jealousy).
Actually, the green tentacle headed alien from the SP sets has a Blacktron torso as well (if not for the new fig, he would have been a better pilot choice for this). Add this with what you noted and I too hope that it is a harbinger of things to come!~H |

I got most of those from a garage sale buy. It was EASILY the best score ever! Tons of LEGO, everything was in mint condition and dirt cheap.(Craigslist is where it's at!) I believe those were in the Mars Mission sets.~H |

Nevermind the mini-figs, that ship is amazing! Great work, Hans! The ship is very Starfox-ish. I like the upside-down slopes on the wings near the cockpit. And good job with the lighting; the trans pieces are illuminated just enough to not be over powering or cheesy. I am happy for you about the mini-figs though! |
