Here is the small village of Berk that is featured in the opening sequence of the
"How to Train your Dragon" movie. This moc also includes the "Monstrous Nightmare".
About this creation
This also features the Monstrous Nightmare, the 6th and final dragon for my
"How to Train your Lego Dragon" series.
The village is under attack from a horde of dragons that have come to steal the vikings food.

The Nightmare is the most aggressive, powerful, and stubborn known dragon.

It shoots out a streaming blast of fire similar to napalm and lava-like fire.
(and most of the time it sets itself on fire for defense).

While everyone is battling the Nightmare, other dragons such as the Gronckle and Deadly Nadder steals the food during the confusion.

The viking teens are tasked with putting out the fires. But they're not so coordinated.

I have made the Vikings brick-built (hardsuits) because in the film they are featured to be large and muscular from the viking teens.
That way I can keep the viking teens at minifig scale to match the dragons.

The Vikings try to counter-attack with their catapults. But unseen from the night sky the most feared dragon, the Nightfury, dive bombs and destroys their siege equipment.
But amidst the Nightfury's devastating attack on the viking's defences, Hiccup thinks he can take out the Nightfury with his bola sling invention.
Hiccup is small and weak compared to the other vikings, but makes it up for his intelligence.
Can you spot the Nightfury?

For the Village Attack I also featured Gobber and his workshop, as well as Stoick.

These Hardsuit Vikings are brick and tough, and are ready for a fight!

Hiccup and the Gang.

This moc is a little bit overdue since the movie is out already on DVD.
But I continued making this moc since my Nightmare was completed and required a good diorama to make him even better.

For a long time I've always wanted to make this Village Attack moc since July. But that was before most of my dragons were made.
(I also wanted to make the training arena from the film or at least make a corner from it, but it just became too expensive..)
Here's a group shot of all my dragons that I've made over six months time
after "How to Train your Dragon" came out.

Well it's not ALL of the dragons from the film. The Green Death is well beyond me. (Maybe in the future)
But I will attempt to make the Timberjack and the Boneknapper later on.
Rate, Comment, and share some of your ideas about this MOC.

When I first looked at this from the default picture I was like, "Monstrous Nightmare?...No, it couldn't be.." That is terrific building right there. I love the technique you used to build the heads of the dragons, and they look so accurate too! How did you build them so well? This movie is outstanding too. Beautiful moc and I can't believe you thought of this, it came out perfect. |

YES! It's FINALLY out! This series was great, I hope you do something similar to it in the future. I really enjoyed the humorous scenes and adorable dragons. The Terrible terror is simple, yet elegant. The Nightfury is an amazing design and structure. The deadly Nadder is...just...AWESOMESAUCE! The Gronckle is cutishly grumpy-looking. I would love to see a series of different mythical monsters and legends such as Centaurs, Fauns, Cyclops, Medusa, Cerberus, and a few different others. Thank you for delighting us with these wonderful works of art.~MM |
