The Dragonfly was inspired by the helicopters (or whatever you call them) in the movie "Avatar".The Dragonfly is a troop carrier as well as a gunship/ support ship. It is very manuverable despite its size.
About this creation
The Dragonfly is with out a doubt the largest and the best of my creations and progbably my favorite. It took me about a week of my summer vacation to construct. Yes, as you might have wondered, the mini-guns and missiles are megablock but you can't argue that they are pretty cool. Also, the poles that connect the propeller blades to the "hoop" thingies are a little thin and cheesey but it's the best I could do. Of couse, by now, it's destroyed so any suggestions that you make will be appreciated but will not be changed.
As you can see, sort of, it can fit about six men, including the pilot and gunner person. I also include a turret for one of the men which is the "Lewis Gun" from Brick Arms, love his mad lego gun building skills by the way, I would recomend him to anyone.
Here is a picture of the cockpit without anyone in it. The windshield "breaks open" so you can put guys in and take them out. The Dragonfly inculeds lots of computers and buttons for those of you who are like Caboose in Red Vs Blue, who "Loves Buttons!" The cockpit fits two minifigs. I was very disapointed when I learned that I could not fit the mini-figs side by side, but there wasn't enough room :(.
Here's a cool shot of the "Lewis gun" turret. It really doesn't swivel back and forth but it does go up and down. You can kinda see how "roomy" it is inside the Dragonfly.
Now I know what you're thinking when you look at this photo: "Oh my gosh... that is ugly!!" Well I know that and let me assure you I too think that it is ugly. I don't know how to fix it so my advice to you is "DON'T LOOK AT IT!!!!" Does that help? I didn't think so. Moving on, as you hopefully can see, the little radar thingies that I added in and the engnes. Well that's all folks. Thanks for looking. Feel free to leave comments.
