Dassault Rafale
My model of the Dassault Aviation Rafale fighter in service with the Armee de l'Air and possibly the Brazilian Air Force.
About this creation
Good day everyone.

As you can see, this is my MOC of the Dassault Rafale, more specifically, the dual-seat B variant, heavily inspired by this. I built this in about 6 hours over the course of two days, and besides the nose, intakes and maybe the canards, I think that this is one of my better models. Sorry for the shoddy image quality, I used my laptop's camera, which, of course, is mortifyingly terrible. But enough of my drabble, ON WITH THE STATS!!!!

(Built on a 1 stud = 1 1/2 a foot basis)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:

Crew: 1-2
Length: 50.1 feet.
Wingspan: 35.4 feet.
Height: 17.5 feet.

Powerplant: 2x Snecma M88 turbofan engines
Dry thrust: 11, 250 pounds each.

Top speed: Mach 2
Range: 3,700 km.
Service ceiling: 16,800 m
Thrust to weight ratio: 1-10.

Hardpoints: 14 (B and C variants) 13 (M varient)
Armant:
- 1x GIAT 30 cannon with 125 rounds
- MICA, Magic II and MBDA Meteor air to air missiles
- MBDA, SCALP-EG, AM-39 Exocet and ASMP-A air to surface missiles
- The AASM family and the GBU-12 Paveway precision guided bombs.

A nice side view of the fighter. The footstool I set it on suck up the rear landing gear because the back of the aircraft is the heaviest part.

The back of the fighter, flashing it's shiny M88's at us. Note the wing flaps move up and down, a new thing for me.

A view from the opposite side, not much to say...

The good ol' nose shot. If you look carefully, you may see the GIAT cannon... I REALLY HATE THAT ORANGE SPOT!!!!

Weapons unmounted with the fighter's canards pointed down. From right to left, an AIM-9X Sidewinder because I don't know how to make a Magic II, an AM-39 Exocet, a AASM, another AASM, the GIAT cannon unmounted, and another Sidewinder.

And here we see a close-up of the canards and of the Pilot and Co-pilot/radar intercept officer. No idea what the RIO is doing back there, probably either hooking up the next target or spamming something...

The fighter at an air show. Note the dual guards, one with and FN FAl, one with a carbine something, the technician dude programming the fighter, and the two pilots yakking it up with a group of civvies in the corner. Now why does that blonde one look so familiar...

Hey, a guy can dream can't he?

Okay, list of things I have since fixed before posting this...
~ I added a more shapely snout to this fighter.
~ I modified it so I can change between the B, C, M and N variants easily
~ I changed the intakes to white and blue.
~ I re-hauled the canards to give them a sharper edge

I think I may take this and after re-posting the new version of the Rafale, turn it into a Eurofighter, then a Gripen.

Excellent moc. The details and shape is awesome. Those dam pilots always get the girls;). Just bought the fast flyers set so I think I might build some more planes soon. Thanks for commenting on my spitfire.
