Monarth the Core Guardian
About this creation
I'm saying here that I finally have a selfmoc. Monarth is based on an old roleplay character, which was actually my first one, a dragon, who resembled kind of what I'd be in a fantasy world, in other words his personality was highly based on mine.

Bionicle Heroes: Matoran Enclave (Night)

Monarth is an unique dragon being who is the mysterious guardian of Treadanus Nui's core. He has a strong sense of duty and justice, but also strong emotions which can take control of him. He has a kind heart and he's a little uncertain around other beings, until he knows them better. Nobody knows his age, but his average size and personality refer him to be quite young.

His elemental ability is shadow that allows him to warp anywhere through shadows or turn into a part of shadows, allowing him to see through any shadow anywhere, though which location he sees at a time is random, since he doesn't have full control over the element. His shadow breath is smokey and cold, and weakens anyone in touch of it. He also has rare psychic powers, including telepathy and object control, although using these abilities require extreme concentration and a lot of energy. To keep himself focused he meditates frequently.

Even though he could leave anytime the core, his sense of duty keeps him guarding it. He has an adventurous spirit and strong will, so he would like to leave, but it's a matter of time when his will takes over and he does so.

Monarth's element is in crossfire with his kind personality. His constant meditation is for keeping him calm and in control of his power. But still there's a chance he can lose control of himself. The darkness inside him caused by the shadow element uses his darker emotions to take control. All it requires is enough pain, hate or anger to be converted into rage and make him go uncontrollable and savage. He returns to his senses if he's knocked out, runs out of energy or if he manages to retake control of his emotions.

A closer image of his wing design, which I tried to make look more natural.

This here shows that his body can bend up/down over 90 degrees, even more if the pistons are removed. The pistons wouldn't otherwise be there, but the wings needed them to keep them up.

Maker's notes:
-I finally made a moc after a while. It has been some time.
-This is my official selfmoc, though it brings up the question should I change my username.
-I could've given Monarth some flying pose pics, but I didn't have any good holder for that, maybe I'll make one later and add couple pics.
-I might give him a toa-ish secondary form, but I'm not going to make it 'normal'. Maybe other forms too, the time will tell.
-His claws were originally meant to be white, but I was missing just 1!!! darn white spike!
-I tried a new white background setting, though the paper edges tend to appear, because the camera screen shows a bit smaller image than it is in reality.
-I'm bit confused. Even though Comet of Treads is kind of a background setting for a story, I can't decide should I make a group for it for RP.
-Also one funny thing. Only because Monarth was missing a backleg, building him put Treadanus Nui literally in half, since the required piece was inside his waist xD

This MOC is incredibly well designed. I've been trying to build a dragon for ages, but can never quite do it. Very nice work! Also, a dragon as a self-MOC... That is just epic.

Quoting Gringat the Repugnant I see only two problems. One is that he seems to have a bit of an overbite, which may be intended, but it does make him look less serious. The other isn't a problem, but may I suggest you try out using my makuta wing design?
About the first problem, I tend to imagine dragons fairly long-snouted, though I know there's shorter ones too, though, but it didn't cross my mind during the build =] 'Problem' 2. If you mean the wing design your version of Tazzuk has, can't do it, either because I don't have two capes or because I don't have enough of those mini snapjoints.

An amazing dragon MOC - one of the most difficult types of Bio-MOC there are, and you pulled him off splendidly. I see only two problems. One is that he seems to have a bit of an overbite, which may be intended, but it does make him look less serious. The other isn't a problem, but may I suggest you try out using my makuta wing design? I'd do it, but I don't exactly have a black dragon MOC to put them on atm ^^; Oh, and good points are definitely the feet (Simple, elegant) and the waist (multiple-piston waists are kinda in vogue now ^^)
