Battlestar Galactica: CIC
Colonial Battlestars are operated from the Combat Information Center, or CIC. It is the nerve center of the ship, located deep within the 'alligator head' of the Battlestar.
About this creation
The Command and Control station is where the Commanding and Executive officers observe and formulate battle tactics. Above them is a large information display tower consisting of multiple DRADIS consoles.

DRADIS refers ro Direction, Range and Distance.

Helm Control: Navigation is managed by spacial coordinates using the DRADIS and other sensor information.

Tactical Station: The Officer of the Watch coordinates ship operations, from the orders of the Commanding Officers to communications, weapons, navigation, and FTL jumps.

As the computers on the Galactica are not networked to prevent Cylon infiltration, this requires the Tactical Officer to move between different areas of the CIC.

There are three entrances to the CIC, all guarded by Colonial Marines.

During Action Stations Alerts, the doors are closed.

"DRADIS Contact, Two Cylon Baseships!"

"Action Stations, Action Stations, Set Condition One Throughout the Ship!"

Quoting James Robinson I really love this. Is there any chance you have instructions hidden somewhere?
You're kidding, right? Okay, well, uh, not exactly, but it's built in thirds. Middle with the two sides hinged, same angle as a large wing plate which is what I used for the decking. Two tower posts which also support the upper level catwalk and the DRADIS console suspended from arms at the top of each post. The whole thing is sitting on three upside down baseplates. The doors are both separate structures, I've used them in other sets. Lots of random plates here and there to block light, depending on the photograph. That's all I can remember. Thanks for checking it out!

Quoting Aidan Bryant Neat build, and great way to get a large smooth floor. Pretty soon you'll have built the entire ship In minifig scale.
Thanks! I knew those baseplates from the 70's would come in handy!

Quoting Tom Simon What do I like more, the fantastic scope and detail of the build, or the masterful photography? I'll go with the build, since the photography is making me burn with envy.
Thanks, Dude! It's funny, I really don't use anything that special for a camera. But, we have this office/hallway play area that's a super bright red. So that, with the 80's track lights on medium, and my LLBean LED headlamp above, the 'atmosphere' is created. Badda bing!

Quoting Marc "Edge" R.unde Just a few days ago, I asked myself when someone would build the CIC. Seems like you could read my mind! Canīt tell how awesome this is. Very atmospheric build and lighting, you can almost hear the computers work and the DRADIS sweeping sound! ~Cheers
This was a project I wasn't sure about, then started tinkering with the tables, and decided to go for it! Thanks, Dude! And I have the DRADIS screensaver on my office computer, and it makes that wooshing noise. It's great being a nerd!

Quoting Freeling ! i had always dreamed of making something like that!
It has to attacked in segments, otherwise it's just too much. I started with the tables, just to see how it looked. Then the DRADIS tower. Once I did that, I was pretty psyched, and the rest was easy. Thanks for the comment!

Quoting Tiberius Black Nice job with the CIC, I'm glad those decals came out well.
Thanks man! I had made a mistake with the first printing: I cut them up first. It was nearly impossible to peel those little screens. So I printed another, peeled, THEN cut. Much easier.
