NEOS short range bomber.
About this creation
NEOS PEREGRINE
DEVELOP DATE : 3034
DEVELOPER: Skaborr Military

After years of war and immense casualities, the population of the Empire of Skaborr became weary. Everyone had lost loved ones, no one was spared. The Senate acted, and made minimizing losses the military's number one priority. When the Senate asked for a bomber to replace the aging NEOS Hammer, could be versatile in space as well as atmosphere, and curb the loss of much needed man power and resources, the Skaborr Military answered the call and the Peregrine was born.

Though the Peregrine has compatibility with various missile types, the 2 most popular are Nuclear and (because of the war with Dark Augusto) Electro-magnetic.
For many reasons, the NEOS shields the Peregrine from dogfights, though the 2 top mounted turrets are sometimes used to help clear enemy AA while on a bombing dive.

FUN FACT: The Peregrine is one of the most widely used bombers in the NEOS Fleet, being used as the primary bomber on its Phalanx, Vanguard, and Javelin cruisers.

Above is the most common form the Peregrin is found in. More on that now.

TACTICS ALERT!! A Peregrine undocking from its carrier, which is orbiting a planet just above atmosphere.

It enters atmosphere at a steep trajectory, screaming towards the surface. The Peregrine achieves terminal velocity, making it extremely hard to hit. FUN FACT: Because of its volatile payload, human gunners have been known to avoid firing on Peregrines, rather taking there chances that they will not be in the targets explosion area. Drones of Dark Augusto have never been known to utilize this tactic.

The pilot uses a short burst of the rear-most thruster, helping to right the angle. Simultaneously, he releases the payload.

All thrusters are burning at this point to escape the explosion.

...Self explanatory

Exiting atmosphere and re-docking. At this point the fuel lines are exhausted, worst case scenario the carrier will need to pick up lost Peregrines.

Rear and support thrusters.

A nod to the NEOS Flag.

Cockpit shot (You're not missing anything, there's nothing in there!!)

And another shot of the underside.

Another great graphic presentation. The tactics demonstration was certainly entertaining. And the build itself is another uniquely well-made craft. Keep it coming! |
