Finally done this! A very tough build, even in Lego Digital Designer. ESPECIALLY in LDD!
About this creation
Its not perfect, but its the best I could do. This model was a lot harder to build than I thought it would be. Also, due to the limitations of Lego Digital Designer, it wasn't possible to get some parts just the way I wanted, such as the V-Fin on the head. You'll have to use your imagination on that one. Anyways, this is my most advanced mecha. The doors on the chest open to reveal the four gatlings, and all the missile pods open. The waist rotates and the knees have sliding panels, and the toes bend. Of course, it also fits a minifig. Finally, I know that there are no "tiger stripes on the chest and shoulders. If it were a real model, I would have used stickers, but LDD doesn't allow it. Anyways, enjoy.

The Heavyarms' full burst attack. I know that I didn't fit as many missiles as are actually on the gundam, but those missile pods are tough to make, even with this many missiles.

its good but can you buy it?
Well, it was made in LDD Universe mode, so it can't be ordered by DBM. However the parts exist in real life, so it is buildable in theory (maybe with a couple of small color alterations). |

since u built heavy arms why not build wing zero custom?
Those are two completely different beasts, my friend. For one thing, lets consider the issue of shapes for a moment. If you look at the model of the heavyarms, you will see a lot of polygons and geometric shapes that translate very well into lego. If you look at the Wing Gundam Zero Custom, you will see that it has a lot of more organic, curved and amorphous shapes that are difficult to replicate in lego. Another thing about the model is that there are a couple of design features that make the model near impossible to build at the scale that I build at, such as the shoulder vulcans, and the beam sabre holders in the wing binders. If I can't incorporate all the gimmicks and features of the model, then I usually don't build it. The heavyarms was a major stretch in this regard (I still didn't get all the missile launchers the way I wanted them). At a larger scale, the Wing Zero would be more feasible to build with all the gimmicks intact. The other thing is that I have tried to make Wing Zero in the past without much success. I'm not confident that I could do the model justice. That is one model that will be up to others to make, I'm afraid. |

Design-wise, I love the Heavy Arms from Endless Waltz, but I hate the colors. I'm a fan of the red, yellow and white from the series. The Endless Waltz colors make it seem too dark. ^Blub^
You are in luck then! The original design for the heavyarms features the design you like in the anime colors! have a look: http://gundam.wikia.com/wiki/File:Gundam_Heavyarms.jpg |

I have a joints problem with this build.
The Technic T-Piece piece between the shoulder and the arm, would NEVER hold those guns like that.
Reasons why I hate LDD= 1. Physics not being applied into a design, 2. needs a virtual tabletop/floor to make sure if the model was bought and built, that it could stand/be supported, 3. All flying LDD mocs need a stand built to go with them due to "false advertisement". (meaning, if you didn't know any common sense, you would think that the moc would be able to stand/sit without a stand (such as flying mecha or something that would hover in the air)
You are right on all counts, except for one: the guns could be supported with a) clear stands or b) with parts modification or even c) elastics. There are ways and there are ways of making these things work, believe me. LDD can be a bit misleading, but in general, I don't do builds that are impossible in real life. When I do, I am sure to note that fact. |

It's amazing, although I personally think the normal Heavyarms from the anime and not Endless Waltz looks better.
The Heavyarms is definitely an unusual looking Gundam, to be sure. I'm not certain which version I like the most. I know a lot of people have done the anime version though. Do a search for "lego gundam heavyarms" on google and you'll see what I mean. |

Outstanding creation! I really like the way you made everything to scale, and still managed to put a minifig inside. I'm also trying my best with LDD but I don't have much confidance. :D If you have time check out my creations! Keep up the good work! |

I just got into LDD today and am making something gundam. But I cant make the ball joints or hinges turn. Please hep. 1. In order to make the ball joints and hinges turn, you need to use the hinge tool (its located on the tool bar at the bottom of your screen). 2. However, there will be times where because of parts conflicts (they both want to occupy the same space at the same time, which the program will not allow), that the hinge cannot turn in a particular direction. This can be frustrating, and involves a lot of fiddling with parts to get things how you want them. 3. The next thing is that sometimes when you are using the hinge tool, you will click on a hinge, but sometimes the hinge will have more than one way it can move. Keep clicking on the hinge until the direction you want to move in comes up. 4. If you are using T-Bone joints (and you probably are), make sure that you line them up exactly in the middle of the clips you are attaching them to. Also, make sure that you do not push them too far into the hole on the opposite end. If you do, the program will register it as a parts conflict and not let you pivot the joint. 5. Finally, there are certain parts that do not work the way they would in real life. A good example of this is the part that I use for my knee joints on my models. It has a hinge at either end that should be able to fold 90 degrees, but for some reason will not. I hope this helps. If you are still having trouble, you can download the instructions for my gundam frame in LDD. http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/231309 is the link.

Happy Thanksgiving! Ths looks like Rusty, Athrun, Miguel, Dearka and Yzack forgot one Mobile Suit back at Heliopolis haha! Its does look like the Duel but heavier. It should be featured in Astray or another C.E. side series. Honestly I love the Gatlin guns on the arms. But they look a bit heavy. Oh heads up, buy the old ball joints becaue they are longer lasting and have more grip than the new ones. That or just improvise. ~V
I guess Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz was a bit before your time. Check this out: this is what it is based on. http://gundam.wikia.com/wiki/XXXG-01H2_Gundam_Heavyarms_Kai |

Its hard when you run out of pieces. Thats why up until now I never had instructions for anything because I would always have to break models down to use on other models |

Excellent color combination and shape, it looks so elegant. I wish I could take credit for the design, but the credit goes to Hajime Katoki, who designed the Gundam for the Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz anime. Thanks for the compliment though.

I think it's great that your using this come up with more advanced designs for your mechs. This one looks like a winner but I just have to see these brought to life with real LEGO to fully satiate me. I hope you can get back to building real soon. Peace my friend.
I'd like nothing more than to do that, but for now, this will have to do. At least when I do get around to building again, then I'll have the instructions for everything. LOL! |
