out of curiosity what sets are the helmet, shield, and spear in? I'm up to date on all sets lego and i have never seen any of them. in a different country perhaps??

The helmets, shields, and spears are stock Lego pieces actually - look again. Leonidas is the only fig with BrickForge parts.

like always i love your work. Frank Miller might be the best comic book artist that ever lived. 300 was one of my favorite comics and movies. This is amazing dude as with all of your work :). if i may make one suggestion though, the helmet, and the shield are already custom so in my opinion the spear is just too much. i understand that it was a packaged deal, but in order to bring some "lego" back into it, i would suggest swapping the spear for some good ol' lego ones. but great job!

But in this case it was a bearded bunny. That is kind of funny actually. It is a good film. A bit of advice, before you ask such a question as how many, may I suggest reading the text. It does state exactly how many there are. As for the how - I went to school, and worked hard so I could have a job that allows me to purchase such things. That being said, they were all purchased from a single vendor on BrickLink, the vendor was from Germany.

I did address that question/suggestion; however, it has been buried many lines down now. I will be doing that for the upcoming diorama; however, in this case I was in a rush to get them plated and photographed so I could show-off/brag about actually having 300 of them ;-) Thanks for all the comment guys, I will endeavour to not disappoint with the diorama/battle scene.

That's quite the army! I would never have the money needed to buy so many at one time. But yes, I think if you added some variation in their faces, it would look even better.

uhh pretty cool you have so much figs, but you could atleast add some variation, not all spartans looked the same with the same face + armor :)

Lee's MOCs make fairly clear, young one, that he has a well developed sense of what he wants to do with the means at his disposal, whose magnitude I'm sure he feels comfortable with. (Practicing my run-on sentences.)

Sounds like a brilliant plan, and I will bring a suitcase full of Dr. Pepper as well. That will be done in the future, this was just a rush to get them setup so I could take a couple of pics. Too funny, I was actually wondering that one myself. Watched the movie several times while putting these guys together. I am not too sure as of yet, but probably about the same. Was thinking of just doing the Immortals. Time will tell though. I have had some offers of collaborative on this one for BW 2011. That orc army is close to about 10,000 figs now. Actually - yes, but the flooring did come first. We will have to disagree then. After I went to set the baseplates for the pictures, I did try that, but hadn't placed the figs in a way that would make it possible. LOL. Actually, the figs came from one BrickLink vendor, and from Germany at that. They will be part of an upcoming diorama. Hopefully ready in time for Brickworld 2011.

O_O Wow. Maybe when your tired out fingers have had a rest, you could try putting them in some different formations? Say the phalanx, or have them do the hoplite run? =)
