Monster in Chains-and the Peasants Rejoice.
My entry for Dem Bones Haunted Halloween Contest. Round: 2. Category: Monster Movie Diorama. The base is 16 by 18 studs. Photos were edited in PhotoshopCS4. This is from the Bride of Frankenstein (1935) In this scene, Frankenstein's Monster has just been captured by the angry villagers. I didn't have the official Frankenstein figure, so mine is made from Batman parts. Funny thing, I was planing to build this for my round one entry, but the more I thought about it, I was sure monsters and gore would be the most popular categories. So I went with Spooky. (Silly me.) Well, Enjoy!

Quoting karsten Rees ok im scared and if kids are scared why are they looking at him???
In the movie, the monster had just been captured by the villagers. They are frightened, but also curious.

Quoting Ian Spacek By the way, sorry I did not join that one group you invited me to.
Hey, no problem. I was just sending out as many invites as I could to as many people as I could think of. I don't expect everyone to join.

Cool! And creepy! By the way, sorry I did not join that one group you invited me to. I just didn't really want to do a build like that. Thanks for thinking of me though...

Excellent vignette, although the sidewalk outside is too colorful in my opinion.

Quoting Alex Mac Have you ever seen Young Frankenstein? One more thing, where did you get that green Dracula hair?
I have! The monster is made from combined parts from the Batman sets that came out two or three years ago, Joker's hair, Killer Croc's face and Scarecrow's body.

Nice work! I like the chains hanging from the ceiling, it has a creepy effect. Have you ever seen Young Frankenstein? It's a hilarious take on the original. One more thing, where did you get that green Dracula hair?

Well, that wraps up the contest. Thanks everybody, I really didn't expect to make round two. Some other builds may have surpassed mine by far, but I'm just happy to be here. It's been fun.

This has a lot of really clever features. However, compared to the other entries, the presentation is uneven and the build could use some refinement. 12 points.

The build is pretty good. It is a bit lacking in complexity but i like the moody editing and use of a custom frankenstein fig (i don't have one either). 13 points.

While the build is very good, what's missing is a shot of the peasants' faces rejoicing (as indicated in the title). Very nice use of the chains to create the ambience of a scary cell for Franky. Score = 12.

Great recreation! The use of bleys really helps to convey the overall scene. The Frankenstein fig is excellent too....it's different from what we're used to seeing, but it adds to the mystery of the build. It's just missing a bit of "oomph" that other competitors have brought to the table. Score of 13. Good luck with the other judges!

Quoting Leda Kat =^..^= I've only seen Bride of Frankenstein once and it was years and years ago so don't remember it at all! Think I will have to watch it again... Good luck!
Thanks! Yeah, I've only seen it once as well, but it was more like two or three months ago.

Wow, the competition has begun! Great custom monster and great idea. Nice detail with the crowd looking through the window. I really love the first Frankenstein movie, but I've only seen Bride of Frankenstein once and it was years and years ago so don't remember it at all! Think I will have to watch it again... Good luck!

Quoting Jeff Fauble I misread the title. I thought it said "Monster in Chains-and the Parents Rejoice." ;)
Hahaha! "And the Peasants Rejoice" has been a catchphrase in my family for ages. I was trying to come up with a title for this and it just sorta slipped in.

Thanks, but don't say 'Vig' to loud, the rules say it has to be a diorama. ; )

Quoting Mister Bones Wow, that was a quick entry! Good luck!
Thanks! Yes, I know it was fast, I was just so excited about making round 2. Glad it counts as a diorama, I wasn't quite sure about the definition aside from the size.

Wow, that was a quick entry! Be advised, the judges are going to wait until all the entries have posted before they judge. Now, this is sweet, love the look of the dungeon and your custom monster is great. Good luck!
