Close shut the jaws of Oblivion!
About this creation
I made these Oblivion minifigs a while back with the intention of improving them later. However, as it seems to be taking me a very long time to get around to actually doing the improvements, I thought it would be best to just go ahead and post what I've made so far. So, in some ways, you could consider many of these minifigs works in progress.

Here are the comparison screenshots of my character in Morrowind and its amazingly-better sequel, Oblivion. She's wearing Imperial Dragon armor in both of those screenshots. The Morrowind one is the one you get when you become the leader of the Legion. The Oblivion one is the one you get when you complete the main quest. Normally there is no feminine model for the Imperial Dragon Armor in Oblivion, but luckily some guy made a mod for one. Thanks, "The Bloke!" You can download his mod here: http://www.tessource.com/files/file.php?id=4254
What? You don't own Oblivion for the PC? Well then, your loss. Despite the fact that I always recommend playing through the original, unmodded game the first time, there are a lot of great (and not-so-great) mods out there that add replay value. You can even tweak the game, and the mods, very easily yourself, to suit your own tastes. You console gamers don't know what you're missing. The mod "Natural Environments" is overrated though.

When I remade her as Amy Archer in Oblivion, this time I was able to actually make her somewhat attractive! Thank you, Bethesda, for the face editor! Man those default heads in Morrowind were ugly. Ebony Armor is probably my favorite heavy armor. I never made Amy wear Daedric because it looked so evil and ugly. Has anyone else noticed that Ebony Armor looks like King Theoden's armor from the Lord of the Rings movies? There's even a magical suit of Ebony Armor you can find in Oblivion called "Horselord's Armor"!

Here's some Speaker for the Black Hand (that's the name for the leaders in the Dark Brotherhood, by the way). One thing that really bugged me about Oblivion is the lack of alternate endings for quests. I mean, it is possible that you accidentally got a "good" character into the Dark Brotherhood (such as if you killed the Grey Prince in the Arena after doing his quest), so why isn't it possible for you to get back out of it with a good ending? They had a perfectly good story for an alternate ending: you could have helped that traitor guy... you know the one I mean if you've finished the Dark Brotherhood quests.

Here's Brother Jauffre, the monk guy who turns out to be Grandmaster of the Blades. His head is Lobot's from Star Wars. I gave it hair to cover up the weird machine he has back there.

Burst, bloodsack! Gah, don't you hate these guys? Don't you hate romping through those horrible Oblivion Gates? Don't you hate the way you couldn't *really* join the Mythic Dawn and get a truly evil ending to the main story? Don't you hate the way that ugly Daedric Armor was the best in the game? Don't you think I should have made the LEGO armor black and not dark grey? Don't you wish I'd stop being so negative? Me too, me too.

And here's a Dark Brotherhood Assassin. Just a lowly Murderer most likely. That could possibly be the extremely annoying Blade of Woe in his hand. Apparently the Dark Brotherhood superglues a special dagger into the inventory of everyone they recruit. Ah well, don't my decals look cool?

Here is a scene from the beginning of the game... the Emperor Uriel Septim and a loyal bodyguard (a member of the Blades). I think these are possibly the two best minifigs I made. The only improvements needed are to make the red cloth on the Emperor's robes align more correctly with the red bricks, and to make a helmet for the Blade guy.

I was glad Oblivion had a conservative art style, with traditional-looking buildings and female outfits that actually looked like they could offer some real protection. Though I have to admit, the Flame Atronachs were pretty hot. Get it, hot? Yeah, I know, I'm hilarious.

"Stop! You have violated the law."
This guy... needs work. Yeah, I think of all the Oblivion minifigs I made, this one needs the most work. He's just too simplistic right now. The Corinthian helmet he's wearing is from Red Bean Studio by the way, who I plan to get more accessories from for my next wave of Oblivion figs. And a guard captain, I'll have to make a guard captain.
"Then pay with your blood!"

Here is my sister's character (one of them anyway), Nick Wolfe. You may have noticed that both of our characters share names with characters in the Nova Refuge universe. Heh, it's no coincidence, of course. Anyway, Nick here is wearing an Orcish helmet I guess. It could have been an Ebony helmet, but I didn't want to paint it.
While I'm on the subject of Nick Wolfe the bearded barbarian, I want to send a little message to the modding community: PLEASE MAKE A BEARDS MOD! I want to see real geometrical beards instead of it just looking like my character has been huffing paint...

Here are the two Septims (Uriel and his son Martin). It's amazing how they're both so bland. I've always thought Sean Bean was a pretty cool actor, but his character in Oblivion was completely lackluster. He was like an emotionless, depressed, uglier clone of Boromir or something. I mean, I'm still enjoying the heck out of Oblivion, but it would have been almost PERFECT with a better writer...

Man I hate zombies. I don't know why on earth I made a minifig of one, despite my hatred for them. Did you know there's a secret law requiring zombies to be featured in every video game? It's true. Any video game not based strictly on real life (like a realistic war game or something), but instead on sci-fi or fantasy, HAS to include zombies or something like them. And I'm sick of it. But anyway, here's a LEGO zombie. Just because I can.
(NOTE: I have just spent like $80 ordering LEGO parts that will be used on updating my Oblivion figs, so expect better ones soon!-er or later...)

Pal, there are ALOT of beard mods for Oblivion. I'd recommend the equippable (and unequippable of course) ones over those that just gives bearded versions of the vanilla races. That way, you can change your beard anytime you want :) |

Hey dude, Love the minifigs. Im kinda in a rut here. Im creating a zombie army of my own, but I cant find enough solid grey bodys on findmybrick.com or ebay for your grey zombie decals. Do you think could seperate out 15 of the green zombie decals? I saw them in the series 3 packs of High Fantasy, but I dont want to spend $150 on 15 packs, just to get the zombies. If possible, (I know you must be really busy,) E-mail me at M.Overbeck@cox.net with your reply Thanks!
ALL HAIL THE EMPIRE OF XARCON!

i hate Zombies too! they should not be in games. In Icewind dale they are slow and easy to kill I struggle with ghouls and ghasts for they are fast and look alike. I'm not sure which one is piosoned or parilasied. I restarting BG 2 and Icewind dale Heart of winter. Have you played Heart of winter? Because I never seen on your website that you played heart of winter (IT is little hard)? You are the best man!! |

I cant believe you rated oblivion so low in your review on "The Lair".Its a red five star!
At least(even though there is no higher)!
The only complaints is the scenes.
They could have made cinematics and better die animations for heroes and stuff.
And there should, like you said,be more choices and consequences and..That sort of stuff.
But aaaaw,all the GOOD stuff!
Geez,its the highest rating!

Muahahaha, you don't have to kill the people in the sanctuary, if you have pc you can use the resurrect cheat to bring them all back and they never go away, thus you can beat the dark brotherhood questline and they'll still be there, ive done it before. Oh and good models! |
