Deep inside the last green spot on earth the cyberpunks are getting mobilized, their location has been discovered...
About this creation

My entry for round five in the 2010 MocOlympics
Category : Cyberpunk
the opposition : Dave Kaleta's entry

anyway, here we go...
"Cyberpunk" Suburban high-tech in science fiction is not a recent concept. Look it over!"
ok, not really familiar with the genre, maybe just because I don’t know what it is, did some research (just read a description on wikipedia) and came to a conclusion:
“suburban” , I know what urban is and I know what a sub is, what can I say, I’m a simple mind.
(yes, that's a U-boot in the river, how did it get there ? I'll leave that to your imagination :P )
The category is vague indeed, I’m not sure that is an advantage, I’m happy I have more freedom in this category, however, so does my opponent.
I decided to puzzle all of my baseplates in each other, throw in some aztec temple and add my whole plant and flower collection as a decor.
my idea was to make some awesome cyberpunk vehicles and throw them in the decor :p
my first vehicle was supposed to be a floating ship similar to those in the Matrix but It didn’t really work out, I drifted off and ended up building a U-boot, I threw it in anyway :P
next was a sleek chopper, I called it "de Libelle", didn’t look too high tech. I tried some enemy vehicles, worked out better.
My main sources of inspiration are the Matrix and the Animatrix
The presence of so much nature could be against the theme of Cyberpunk, however, I figured that to keep a controlled world there has to be nature to keep the world in balance. Ofcourse that is the most comfortable place for some cyberpunks to hang out and be self sufficient (small water central, fruits from tree's,etc.)
I made a movie to show you the creations easier.
(Music was provided by my good friend Benjamin Thomas The Crude)
Here all the pics incase youtube doesn't work
this was actually the last vehicle I made, didn't have enough time to make the finishing touch again, I did manage to give it light function and quite some odd (=super awesome) looking characteristics :P
De libelle (= dragonfly)
Droids with their hands in the pockets :p my first idea was to make them boosters for an additional vehicle,
now they're just some high tech apparature in the main computer chamber.
Missiles, the base needs defenses incase of invasion
I really drifted off quite a distance, my "U-boot" has working torpedo hatches xD
More pictures of the main vehicles :

well, I lost this round so I can speak freely now.
It was a deserved loss, this base is a mess, very disorganized, I pretended that was on purpose but actually I just messed up,
Structural bases are not part of my "better creations" unfortunatly...
video is best...,i have to work on this!,it makes the sub s torpedo system shine like nothing else could!,your system rocks back in time through the stone age!,it s genius!,your base is realy cool,it reminds me of cobra bases,or the thunderbirds!,mask is a good reference as well!,all great concepts!,the helicopter is my fav, niceline colorful in a good taste, camouflaged it was brilliant!,there are two things on my wish list for christmas from you as my santa!, 1 -an another attempt at street racing,a la fast and furious, 2 a team of thunderbirds like base and vehicules!,air, ground, sea!,i think this could be a niche you could easily own!,but, most of all,i d love to see your take on this!!! love your style!good show!,if you could reply on my journal,i d appreciate it!
Sorry for not saying Happy Birthday, I haven't been in Mocpages for almost 2 weeks. Ok, your creation is nice, I like the U torpedo a lot and the vehicles are out of common but interesting. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Commiserations Sebeus, this was always going to be a tough challenge and probably the most open-ended category. I really enjoyed what both you and Dave built, while Dave created a sculptural piece, yours is more like a UCS playset! I wonder what it would cost? Great job though, be proud.
This is really an awesome build. It is not what I envision Cyberpunk to be though, so Dave got my vote and the win, but this is really beautiful. You fought well good Sir, bravo.
You had better vehicles, but Dave's overall build earned him my vote. Hold your head high though, this is a beautiful build. Lee.

All I'm capable of saying is wow. It doesn't even matter what the category is, this build is amazing. The moving parts, the ships, the buildings, Everything. Truly spectacular.

Awesome work all around, but my favorite thing here has to be that last vehicle you built. :)
Wow dude, if anyone has come close to knocking Dave off in this competition it was your entry right here my friend! I think you did an outstanding job, and definitely gave Dave a few nightmares to contend with. My favorite part is the overall playibility that you incorporated into this build!! Don't fret, you still have 3 more judges to go!! Cross your finger, and good luck!
Happy birthday, Sebeus! You've given Dave a run for his money here, but I'm afraid he's still got ya beat...at least in my book. You did a good job on the layout of the environement, and the ships were well executed. It's a really good entry and a close call this time around. Nicely done!
Happy birthday Sebeus I! Huge and beautiful. I think you (and Dave) had the vaguest, and therefore hardest, category. I particularly like the insect-y vehicle with all the circle plates on the outside, and the U-boat. Good luck!

ironic, it's funny how everyone likes the last vehicle while it took only 5 minutes to make (except for the net, which I had prepared to make another vehicle that didn't work out)

wow and the torpedo tube. NEVER KNEW IT COULD HAVE BEEN DONE. it is so good. and the whole thing. i still dont know what the category is though
tell you what, If I win I'll make a complete submarine (if I lose I ill probably do also but less motivated)
Wow, you really went all-out on this one. The last vehicle had a very unique shape and design; it's one of my favorite things about the build. I loved seeing some of the play-features in your build through the videos. The torpedo hatches are brilliant, I could never pull something like that off. I also was impressed by the sliding "mountain" and hidden platform. A lot of your build reminded me of the classic toy line MASK, which had lots of transforming features. I enjoyed seeing your take on Cyberpunk. It makes me happy to see creativity within a theme that can sometimes be too confining. Good luck to us both.
His just didn't define my feel of cyberpunk which is like disorganized, junky but high tech and with gangs. Yours has the high tech disheveled feel, his just really didn't. Also, Happy Birthday.
This one is very cool. I think I would have an extremely difficult time if I had to judge this one. While Dave took the more classical approach to cyberpunk, your intepretation of the theme is very surprising, yet still defendable as cyberpunk in my book. The many different builds and high playability makes this an awesome MOC. That last ship, that you almost added as an afterthought, is just...wow.

This is one amazing entry, I would have liked to see more urban buildings and such but still, nice job. I also like this one more than Dave's. His was too sculpted.
:P 'too sculped' brilliant, I hope the judges think the same way :p
