The Falcon: It's got your favorite Pelican-like uses, but with some firepower!
About this creation
Well, after my successful Revenant, I decided that building these on the weekends wasn't so bad after all. However, I'm losing ideas fast, so I might as well finish fixing my Warthog. As for now, the last of my Reach vehicles--the FALCON!!!
Here's a bird's-eye view of the Falcon, showing its powerful rotors and its overall shape. Yes, you may notice there is no cockpit: no windshield nor any detailing in the cockpit area. There was no perfect shape for that cockpit.
Here's a Banshee view of our beloved Falcon, again showing the overall shape and also some of the fins in the back. This time I have to side with the Falcon: the frontal machine gun would rip the poor 'Shee to shreds.
Here's the side view, probably the ugliest, but ironically the best-to-scale pic, of the whole thing. It basically looks like it's only connected on the back. Which it is :P. I really have to fix this, or at least put something to connect it on the front, for it to succeed in stability.
Here's a rotor shot. Self-explanatory. I really think it's the stupidest thing to not put that 3-prong connector plate from Technic on LDD, but I guess it's "too expensive." Enough with critiquing Lego, I just had to use a 5-stud 1x1 brick and build up from there to get the right angle proportions. Not bad, but could be better.
Here's the well made chin gun IMO. I think it is absolutely beautiful, while actually being engineered correctly and nicely. AND IT ROTATES!!! Gotta include those play features...toys aren't toys without them.
Ha ha, a very useless view of my very detailed cockpit. Nothing much to see here. *Maybe I should have at least added a suitcase...*
Here's the top thruster-like appendages on the top, which are rather blocky in mine but still acceptable. They're a wee long too. However, ignoring the spotlight, you can see at the bottom right corner that it's COMPLETELY studless. I've never built anything that was entirely made out of SNOT, but this came pretty close to my first.
Here's the tail of the Falcon, showing those stabilizer (adjustable!) fins and the curved back. See those thrusters too?
Here's my grenade launcher here, which I really enjoyed making. Making makeshift weapons pleases me: I usually choose some random small part and build off of it to create something realistic yet beautiful.
Yes, the thing rotates. You wouldn't want your Falcon have to stationary gunners who can't move their guns, right? Am-I-RIGHT, Marines?
Now here is the Part of Mixed Feelings. First of all, ignore the black plating, that's for ascetics. You may see that the WHOLE bottom part is literally connected to this small apparatus. While it may be stable, it certainly needs to be changed. Something in the front has to be connected, but it's for another day. Download LDD, change it, and maybe send another way. Greatly appreciated...yet hardly noticeable.
And that's it! Hopefully this thing gets the same attention as my Spc. Banshee and my Revenant, but you never know: this thing was a PAIN. Just like it and give me a break. On to another week of...high school!!!
