NEOS Fuel Base
One of the many planetary installments designed to keep orbital refit stations well-stocked with fuel and other commodities. Enjoy!
About this creation
Several fuel bases such as this one are positioned along the equator of a planet. Their function is to produce and ship fuel to NEOS Oasis refit stations that, in turn, refuel and repair the battleships of the NEOS and its allies.

The secondary landing pads for singlecraft, such as these speeder bike scout/escorts.

The two bike pilots, chatting while the refueling arm services their vehicles.

The primary landing pad, where the cargo shuttle is receiving its payload of fuel. The shuttle is the only space-capable craft stationed at the base.

The fueling arm, pumping the cargo hold full of radioactive excellence.

Now onto the building. Here is the roof, stock-full of comm arrays, sensors, and a defense turret.

A whole mess o' communication stuff. Most of it isn't even functional, but the designers decided that the more dishes on the roof, the cooler it would look.

A back view of the base. It was built upon a small rock face for stability and to save on white bricks.

The garage, where land craft can park.

The lush foliage of this planet is more sparse near the equator, but flourishes when there is plenty of shade. The road must be constantly maintained.

Here is where the magic happens; magma is brought up to the surface to provide the heat necessary to manufacture fuel, but it must be carefully controlled by shields and heat exchange devices so that the base's staff doesn't become human bbq.

More foliage and stuff.

Another overall shot from a different angle.

Interior time!
Overall shot of the upper level.

The shield door leading to the primary landing pad, and the contoller of the primary landing pad's fuel arm.

A panel of buttons and lights that don't really do anything.

A NEOS melee trooper and heavy trooper discussing who they think will win the orbital drag race over the holotable.

More lights that don't do crap.

Yeah, these aren't necessary either. Seriously, the whole station is AI controlled. When an officer isn't inspecting the station, everyone is playing pong and bubble spinner or trying to twiddle their thumbs in opposite directions.

Wheels to open and close valves. Or something like that...

Now onto the garage!

A cargo truck parked alongside some fuel lines. The stuff down here is really what matters.

Backpacks containing oxygen and other supplies in case personnel must evacuate, or want to go berry picking.

The shield door to the secondary landing pad.

The truck driver, heading up to the upper level to try and set a new high score.

The melee trooper's plasma saw, some NEOS Standard blasters, and a NEOS ghetto blaster. Pretty solid armory, no?

Fuel lines and a red light.

Vehicle-free base.

Here is where all the vehicles went: the next section of the presentation!
The bikes with their riders. One has superior speed, the other has superior firepower. Or I just ran out of identical pieces. Nah...

The NEOS 'Camel' cargo shuttle. I didn't mean to make it look exactly like a pelican. Whoops.

3/4 rear view.

Rear view.

Rear view with the cargo hatch open.

Rear view with... Just kidding, this is the side greeblies. Kelso can't get enough rear, but I'm sure everyone else is perfectly content at this point.

Cockpit.

Some underside greeblies.

Truck time! This vehicle was pretty basic, but I'm happy with the results.

Back view.

Party time, excellent!

Now that our minifigure staff has left, I can say that this was a really fun build, and I'm pretty sure it's the largest diorama I have created. It took around 11 hours to complete, and was well worth the time. Thanks for viewing, and let me know what you think!

NEOS group can be found here. We are having a contest soon, join the group and get in on the fun!

is neos like the liu? another very cool building from you, i just love the magma energy system! so hot! it s a very nice concept, i also loved all the vehicles and ship, very well done, although the truck could use a little more work, if you could find a way to clean it a bit, this base could be awesome! i understand how difficult it is to get back at a big project that took forever to finish, check my recycling facility, it has a lot of work to be done, but, this, like mine has tremendous potential! i hope you will get back at it! great work!

Quoting Space Pirate Hey Cody! Thanks for telling. To be honest, I did notice that the NEOS is quite active again and even read about the tournament (yeah, I'm a lurker :P). Congratulations for bringing it back to life! I'm not really interested in participating though, I'm sorry...tournaments are too time consuming for me. Btw, nice base. I especially like the defense turret on the roof, and the ghetto blaster ;)
Thanks! It's all good if you can't participate, it is going to take a while, I admit. I hope to see some new stuff from you soon! :)

Quoting Mithryl Dlarix Hey, that is some sweet base. I'm really liking all the details. My favorite is the ship though. It is really sleek--one of the finest transports on MOCpages to be sure. Yeah, I'm posting again. Its going to be all Lego Digital Designer Stuff for the time being, unfortunately, because my lego is all in storage for the time being.
That's a bummer, do you have to re-sort it all?

figured this was the best way to get in touch...i like the moc but WHY DID YOU BAN ME FROM THE NEOS? if you're thinking...BECAUSE YOU COMMITED PLAGERISM...then check out my UNE A-13D Assault Jet, the explanation on how my brother tricked me into thinking the pic was my own is ALL there. So, to the point...was it you, ryan, or a mocpages mod who banned me for something i didn't mean to do...
