About this creation
Hattin, July 4th, 1187.
The Muslim armies under Saladin captured or killed the vast majority of the Crusader forces, removing their capability to wage war. As a direct result of the battle, Islamic forces once again became the eminent military power in the Holy Land, re-conquering Jerusalem and several other Crusader-held cities.
Krak des Chevaliers, July 4th, 1191.

Four years later, it is a special day at Krak des Chevaliers. Grand Master of the Hospitallers and Grand Master of the Templars Knights are waiting for a special guest.
Who is he?

Even the Queen of Jerusalem is waiting upon the Grand Master's Tower, looking at the arrival of this great King.

He's here, exiting the vaulted ramp and presenting himself to the Grand Master.

Finally, Richard the Lionhearted arrives, accompained buy his soldiers.

Baron of Ibelin was waiting this moment since a long time.

The Crusaders have meeting to decide their strategy against Saladin. The Third Crusade begins.

The vaulted ramp opens showing Richard's soldiers arriving at the Krak.

An Hospitaller Knight guards the main entrance of the castle.

It is an honour for the Hospitallers to host this meeting who will decide the future of the whole Christianity against Saladin.

Other guests already arrived: King Philip II of France, well know as Philip Augustus, is going praying in the Chapel with the Bishop of Jerusalem.

A french archer looks the scene from the Chapel's roof.

The King wants to know if the Bishop can help him to obtain the crown of the Kingdom of Jerusalem, with the complicity of the Templar Knights.

Odon, the evil bishop, accepts in exchange of a lot of gold.

All the fortress is on maximum alert, a lot of soldiers on the roofs guard their Kings and Masters ready to discuss about war.

At the same time, two farm boys are leading the horses into the stables beside Baibar's Tower.

The Knight's Hall is ready to host this historical meeting.

Richard the Lionhearted arrives at least while the other guest are waiting for him.

The Crusaders want most of all to reconquest Jerusalem.
By the way, on the highest terrace, a nice reunion between a French and a British friends.

The evil Bishop and the Queen look to the lower court from the Chapel's balcony.

The meeting is finished, the King of Jerusalem is announcing his soldiers the decision before leaving the Krak by the northern postern: it is war!!!
I hope you enjoyed!

Impressive work! Nice Historical scene, too. Do you plan on fully populating the Castle?

Tu as absolument raison! Le seul hic c'est que pour l'instant j'ai bcp investi en briques, et je n'ai pas tout le reste... C'est sûr, dans une forteresse comme le Krak il devait y avoir de tout! Merci encore pour tes commentaires sympas! |
