Albuquerque - Part 1 - "Weird Al" MocSong
If you ever find yourself in an existential quandary, full of loathing and self-doubt, just remember that there's a little place called...Albuquerque
About this creation
Hold on to your hamsters, it's Weird Al time! You thought it couldn't be done, so I had to do it! It's the first section of one of the longest songs of all time, Weird Al's Albuquerque!

(Push play if you want to listen while you view - One problem you'll encounter is a slight variance between the actual lyrics and those I've written. That is the result of my trying to write down the lyrics partly by memory, partly by listening to the cd.)

-------------------------------to-be-continued...------------------------------------

Beware! Parts 2 and 3 may follow in the distant future!

Now, you are entering my commentary of most of the builds. Skip to the bottom to avoid possible injuries due to falling asleep at your computer!

Finally, I found a use for all those yellowing white parts that inevitably come with any garage sale purchase. I loved creating the weathered look here.

Why does a bait shop always attract inebriated pirate-wannabees?

For all the work I put into this building, the roof was my favorite part. Five minutes or less of slapping some random grills on there was the most satisfying building I've done in a while. Weird? You bet!

This was my wife's favorite part of the project.

Main Street, USA, with the usual collection of characters. Building in the Cafe Corner style was such a treat for me. This building will reappear, with some modifications and possibly a completed interior, in my Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs project for my school's library display case.

The basement is where it all started for me. The project almost stalled out here. However, once I got cruising with all the "junk", I was hooked.

Ah, beautiful woodwork. I love multi-shaded builds.

Overhead view, shows how I tried to break up the 90-degree monotony.

Thanks, Nichole, for the great pictures! I love you, baby!

Very well done, it is all very nice, but it is the basement that is my favourite part. Lee.

For some reason my favorite part is the basement, but I like also how the use of the yellowing white pieces turned out here, and of course I love the hilarious life story ;-) Well done mate.

So many wonderful builds. I love the bait shop; especially the pier. And the canoe in the basement and the not quite pressed down stairs are also excellent.

Great stuff so far. I can't wait to see the rest, especially after finishing the song. My favorite scene was the bait shop. I know how hard it can be to build something that looks run down. That dock is cool too. The basement was a close second with the piles of stuff, the electrical box, and furnace. Great builds!

Excellent builds, every set has some great little morsel of detail to focus in on. My favourite is the bait shop, I love that decrepit old jetty. Superb presentation too! Top notch.

Another Weird Al masterpiece in the works here, Wes. All the details are spot on, with the basement being a fave. Love how you did the hanging canoe.~H

Even if I can't appreciate Weird Al, I can definitely appreciate your excellent realizations of his songs.

Hilarious writeup and majestic build! Lots of little details to admire, but the base of bait shop caught my eye. Very cool!
