Finally, here she is: My version of the Excelsior Class Heavy Cruiser from Star Trek --->
Original: length: 467m; First commissioned in 2284 ---> Model: approx. 4195 parts; height: 20 cm ; width: 34,5 cm and length 97 cm
It has taken me quite a long time of designing her, waiting for all the parts to arrive, building her for real, finding the time to photograph her and finally posting her on the pages. But, it was all well worth it! I don´t want to sound snobbish, but I´m really proud of how this baby turned out in the end. I dare to say that this is my best creation so far! Enjoy!

Yeh, I guess... Hmm, well, dunno when my GAIA capital ship will be finished. I discovered some major design flaws in the MLCAD construction and eventually need to reconstruct half of the ship all new. :-( Another challenge is that I´m buildng it in a size, I´ve never built before - quite a challenge for stability! But, what I´ve got so far looks awesome. Still struggling with myself, if I should post a preview of the MLCAD design, like I did with the Excelsior, or to drop the bomb when it´s done... Wirklich ein wunderschönes Modell! Bei mir wirds wohl noch dauern bis ich mein nächstes Modell hochlade. Ich bau zwar an was, aber es geht nicht wirklich viel weiter. Momentan ist einfach viel zu tun. Die Kinder ständig krank, der jüngere hat überhaupt operiert werden müssen, also nix schlimmes, aber es hat halt doch gemacht werden müssen. funny, since I was just looking over Excelsior schematics. And you have nailed everything to the last conduit. I can't say enough things about the greatness of the model. hands down THE best excelsior made in lego ever. I personally think it's better than the studio model!! come check out my mini excelsior! |

Obwohl ich mittlerweile schon ein Paar Kleinigkeiten gefunden habe, die verbesserungswürdig wären, bin ich auch sehr zufrieden mit dem was ich hier habe. Und, rechts von dem Ivar Turm befindet sich noch einer mit der 787 Dreamliner (Standart Set) darauf. Macht sich ganz gut im Wohnzimmer! ~LG, Marc |
