This is my first official MOC. It's a small fortress inspired from the Chateau de la Batiaz in Switzerland (I was meaning to built a model of it but once I finished the first round of landscaping, the actual castle would not fit... silly me).
About this creation
In the arched great hall, the off-duty guard are resting before the long guarding on the battlements. One of the soldiers of the Bishop's envoy's retinue is being entertained with wine and a game of cards.
The other Bishop's soldier has managed to trick a maid up the tower to serve him some ale...
... the maid, however, knows how to handle lonely soldiers.
In the castle's chapel, Landrit de Mont the parish priest is saying mass. In the lower floor the castle's seneshal is reviewing taxes ledgers.
Rodolphe Mistralis, the castle Lord, has hired Florentine engineers to build a trebuchet. He and his wife lady Alice are being told of the recent progress by Gregorio, the master engineer. The siege machine will indeed scare these Savoy soldiers in no time.
A spy of my lord Peter has been captured in the nearby town of Octodurum. He awaits his exectution on the castle's pilori outside the walls. Rodolphe the young, son of the castle master, is training is skills at throwing apples. From what lies at the spy's feet, Rodolphe the young has not only been training with apples.
In the castle court and outside the walls, life is going on as usual, although Jehan the weaponsmith is busier than usual. Peasants are lifting good wines of the neighbouring wineyards into the castle.
Knights from the neighbourhood have answered the call of Rodolphe. They smile at the daring of the castle lord who has exposed his arms and his son's over the castle entrance, instead of the bishop's. They know however that the Bishop needs Rodolphe to hard to complain.
Quoting Morgan Gilbert
This is really good, but i have one question. Is the maids knife for occasional self defense, or does she actually kill the guards?
