MOC Olympics R3 Group 2C: Baron Von Ben ~ Vs. Giovanni Seynhaeve
Classic 90s Space! I choose...M:TRON!!! Specifically an M:Tron Crystal Refining Plant.
About this creation

MOC Olympics Homepage
and Giovanni Seynhaeve's homepage.

(("Running in the 9o's" - Initial D))

Here is my Crystal Refinery Plant from the M:Tron Company ((I read on Wikapedia that this theme was supposed to be a civillian, most likey an industrial, mining theme). Now for the Grand Tour! Let's work Our way through the refining process.

It all starts with the lowly Robotic Miner. These guys cover the planet and search-and-retrive the crystals.

Then, the crystals are shipped in these little trucks to the Plants.

Hmm... there's something very familiar about that driver...

Ben?!? What are you doing here?

Ben: Oh, I'm just Running in the Ninties!

Oh brother...Puns...Anyhow back to the process. *Shuffles Notecards*

After being transported to the Plants, the crystals are then dumped into...
this Conveyor Belt, where the extra junk is sorted out via crane.

Ben: But that's where my job ends, and I get to hit the bar. IN SPACE!

Ugh, why did they hire you? Moving on. *More Notecard shuffling*

And here's our happy Crane Operator now! Say Hello folks!

After the crystals are sorted, they are put through a pressurized oven where they are melted into a semi-liquid state, just like Jell-o, but don't eat it!
The crystal Jell-o is then smooshed into even rows (the "Smoosher" really goes up and down :D) and...

...is then packed into these crates to be driven to the nearest rocket off the planet.

Here's another view of the Transport Truck.

These trucks are also used as utility vehicles, holding all sorts of tools like drills, saws, and Sonic Screwdrivers.

This ends our tour of the M:Tron Crystal Refinery Plant #278. Have a nice day, and don't forget to visit the gift shop!

Fourth Wallage:
Well, it didn't turn out, quite as expected, but I like it. Here's a few extra pictures.

And just to get some more Ninties Goodness in there, here's a little Termination for ya!

Well, there's my entry! Hope you like it! Rate N' Comment Please, and wish me luck in the MOC Olympics!

Quoting Mister Bones OK, I really thought Gio was going to beat you like a bad puppy in this, but you did VERY well. You actually made me go over each MOC a few times to decide the winner. However, Gio captured the classic M Tron feel and had some really exceptional builds. He got my vote.
Well, I'm only the tiniest bit dissapointed here (Kudos to you, Giovanni). Honestly, I'm just happy that I got to participate, there's always next year! Anyhow, now I know what's holding me back from being a great MOCer; My Pictures. Note to self, get a better Camera, and maybe Photoshop XD!!

Very cool entry! I particularly liked the use of the red legs on the vehicle, I assume to tilt the bucket sideways( a shot of that would have been nice). Good luck with the judges.~H

Hurrah for M:Tron, and I like the real moving parts in the refinery. I lost a judge's vote due to fuzzy photos in the last round though, so if you have the chance I'd post some clearer ones (not if you've already added this to the entry thread, though). Good luck.....

Nice. I just love M:Tron. I think you'll improve your chances with the judges substantially with some better photos. You need more (day)light, or you should put your camera on a stand (a tripod, but a stack of books is also fine). Also, if your camera has it, use macro mode (the setting with the little flower icon). Hope this helps.

Hah! What a great coincidence! I choose M:Tron too! It'll be easier for the judges to compare... I love your take on the theme, Ben, but M:Tron really should have magnets! My entry will be up within 24h. Good luck with our judges!
